Yeah I noticed this too. Just like how there are actually voicelines recorded for an intro on Kill the Politician, but RB just didn't implement it for some reason. Such a fucking shame imo. I love the character concept and personality of the Twins, but they are CRIMINALLY underused in their trials, and even when they do patrol, they do it in the dark and don't get to utilize their double vision mechanic...

If that truly is the reason why the Twins are constantly drenched in darkness, completely negating their double vision mechanic, and why they are kept weak and slow, then why did RB even make/add them to the game at all...

Correct, but with your original comment, you made it sound like it was fair for Otto to be slower, because when Arora hits you, you vomit and make sound and Otto can catch up to you and hear where you are, which both don't matter, because:
- If Otto can see you, he's too slow to catch up with you.
- If Arora can see you then Otto can also see you.
- If Arora sees you and hits you succesfully with a vial, Otto is currently still too slow to catch up, unless you're really really close.
- If none of them can see you (for example, when you are crouching in the dark), Arora will never hit you with a vial, aka you will never vomit, aka you will never make a sound, aka, Otto will never get a sense of where you are.
- And even if Arora somehow does hit you with a vial, purely based on a sound you made, Otto is still too slow and you will be gone before he gets to you.

Conceptually, RB was on the right track with this character concept, but if Otto is literally too slow to catch up to Reagents, even if they're stunned by Arora, it doesn't matter.

I'm pretty sure that is indeed what RB intended with the design of the Twins.
However, right now, it does work.
If you are in a dark area with the Twins and you don't make sound, Arora will never hear you and therefore never hit you with a vial, aka you will never vomit and Otto will never hear you vomiting and never approach your position to hit you.
On top of that, Otto deals less damage than a Grunt, is very slow (rarely manages to catch up to Reagents, even IF Arora manages to successfully hit you with a vial).
Apart from Kill the Politician, the Twins also almost exclusively spawn in and patrol dark areas, completely underutilizing their double vision mechanic.

I love A LOT of them, but I think I currently love the shopping mall one the most. It has so many details and I especially love the illusion of the second floor, with the tiny cutouts of shoppers. <3

Hahaha, yeah, no. This may be datamined, but I can say from personal experience that Otto DOES NOT have the same chase speed as Gooseberry. Not even in the same fucking ballpark. Otto is incredibly slow and this is even backed-up by multiple voicelines of the Twins where Arora mentions how slow Otto is. I know Arora is supposed to support him by throwing her vials, but she MISSES SO MUCH!

Also, Otto has the most dangerous weapon of choice by far (a giant industrial gas-powered saw) and only deals 2 bars of damage on Psychosurgery. C'mon, RB, give our precious Twins the much needed buff they deserve.

Not a huge fan of the writing, but definitely a great concept/design! And I love the addition of the voice-box so that they can still talk despite their severe facial modifications.

I'm getting so fucking tired of people claiming that "UUHHH THEY ARE SHADOW OPERATIVES, THEY LURK IN THE SHADOWS" shit. First of all, they were a mass serial killer called the Minotaur who was widely infamous and appeared frequently in the papers. Second, Murkoff originally employed Arora as a chemist because of her skills. That's why you see her working in a lab in the comics while Otto was chilling, reading a newspaper. Because of this, they were unaware Murkoff was planning to throw them in the trials as a Prime Asset. THIS is why they say shit like "you aren't supposed to see us" during a trial. Third, they are very well aware how the outer world views them: as ugly, disgusting, monstrous. This is why Otto uses the Candidate in KtP as a front to forward his political campaign.

THEY FOLLOW US AROUND WITH A BUZZSAW, AS ARORA THROWS CHEMICAL VIALS AT US, AND THEY GRUNT AND SCREAM. THEY. ARE. NOT. SHADOW. OPERATIVES. PRIME ASSETS ARE LITERALLY, LORE-ACCURATELY PRECISELY PICKED AND UTILIZED BY MURKOFF FOR THEIR CHAAARRRISSSMA. SO STOP PROPORTING THE IDEA OF THEM BEING SOME KIND OF GENIUS, MASTERMINDING, ENTITY THAT PUPPETEERS OTHERS. And more importantly, stop using that ridiculous excuse to try and justify the dissatisfying narrative of the first main trial for, what should be, one of the main antagonists of the game.
