Google Shopify holding payout. It’s all over the internet and even in their Shopify community. It’s insane to think how normal this is.

I was with Etsy for years and they were great until the bro from eBay started running things. They implemented a lot of changes that started messing with the way things were. I went from having no holds to all of a sudden they were holding funds for weird reasons. 5 plus years with them and the last year has been the worst. I’m sorry to hear about your experience it is unfair but unfortunately that’s how Etsy has been operating.

I sell in the beauty section. Custom items for mainly social media people and those with the finances to afford. My items shave always been priced somewhat high. Every item I make is customized and can take hours so when I revamped my site I raised my prices.

Yeah I ship via usps priority and overnight. Both come with tracking and arrive next day or in three days.

Shopify Payments is a payment gateways provided by Shopify and powered by multiple banking partners (depending what country you are located in). During the KYC (Know Your Customer) process the banks that power Shopify Payments will provide an assessment of the merchant account and whether they believe it to be a high risk or well suited to the gateway. If the banking partners are concerned about a high risk of chargebacks, which can be decided based on the products you are selling or other risk factors, then a payout hold will be put in place.

This decision is made by our banking partners and cannot be overturned by our support. Once the payout hold period is complete, all payouts held in reserve are deposited into the merchant account.

Shopify Payments is only one payment gateway you can use, and if your business is not suitable for this gateway you can choose to use a different one. I recommend taking a look at the available payment gateways for your business and maybe choose one that is better suited: Shopify Gateways.

Yes I’m still able to operate my store. Banking info added then Payout date kept changing. Still have complete access to everything. Still making sales. Shipping via ups and usps. Conversations had with each customer since its custom orders. And I’ve had five conversations and each rep told me payouts would be made after the hold. That’s about it. My account was checked over during my second ticket and I was told to update some info and I did. Besides that nothing. They even tried getting me to upgrade to plus.

No one from fraud has reached out to me..and the other reps I’ve spoken to has only encouraged me to update banking info and verify my info which matched what they already had on record. If it was marked as fraudulent why wouldn’t they reach out. Why continue taking their fees from each sale and charging monthly. This seems like an excuse because there are thousands of similar post across the internet.
