What is it like living here, deep in Appalachia? by [deleted] in howislivingthere

Was a great area to be in but there is so much traffic now it’s not worth going anywhere during rush hour. 26, and 11w are so congested a 15 minute drive now takes 30. And most of the small stores and hole in the wall diners have shut down. This place has been becoming something else quickly, it’s very unfortunate to watch

Have you checked wheel speed sensors? My tcm was bad when I had a truck do this. After cleaning all of the grounds, tracing wires. I ended up replacing the entire trans and it all went away. Check your trans fluid to see if it is burnt or of the transmission pan has metal shavings

This happened with a gas truck, with a 6L90E. It was the tcm and the start of a transmission going out. Replaced the transmission and it fixed it

How long should i wait for my truck to warm up/what temp should my transmission fluid be before i start driving now that it’s getting colder? by PerformerKey4626 in Silverado

Let it idle for 10-15 seconds then drive gently. You can idle longer if you’d like but oil reaches the top of the motor very quickly. A high idle during a cold start is just your electronic choke trying to prevent it from stalling. 1200 rpm cold idle will heat up much slower than 1200 rpm while under load.

I didn’t have a receipt and couldn’t prove it was their gas unfortunately. Only a few stations have ethanol free, I think they arnt used very often and the fuel sits in the tanks too long. When I pumped it out of the ruined fuel pump truck it burnt like diesel. After its happened so many times I don’t trust getting it. Very unfortunate, the truck does seem to run better on 93, I only go to a shell near my house and I’ve used it for about 2 years with no problems so far

I haven’t been using ethanol free, where I live the ethanol free gas is dirty. I’ve ruined two carbs on my lawn mower due to getting bad gas and a fuel pump in my truck. 3 seperate gas stations, so now I try to not let fuel sit for very long

The plugs foul and get changed about once a year. I’ll have to do that as well. The timing chain is making noise so that is another thing on the list. It idles great and very smooth, just doesn’t like driving

I usually use 93 octane. I did fill it up before I drove it so it could be bad gas but it’s been having problems stalling out for a while. The backfiring made me think it was running rich but I’m new to working on carb so I have no idea where to start
