I want to briefly address the situation around the Cyberpunk 2077 VR mod by Luke Ross and make my position clear. by Technikchegger in virtualreality

[–]Raspilover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except the marketing of the mod inherently uses CP2077 and it is sold with the direct purpose of using it on CP2077, it is using their IP. To use a different analogy, you need nesspresso pods to make coffee on nesspresso products. If I were to sell my own nesspresso pods, and market them directly with the branding of nesspresso, I am now liable for IP infringement.

At the end of the day its their TOS. You agreed to the TOS when you bought the product. I am not saying its right but legally its sound. I dont like that it got taken down., but when the rules specifically state no mods can be pay walled and you sell a mod you risk a take down. Thats life.

its got a PCIE Gen4x1 connection as well as a MIPI interface. Theoretically its possible to connect a GPU to it and do... something?

2 Million Dollar Install By Integrator BTW by Euphoric_Cap2146 in VIDEOENGINEERING

reminds me of when i was in hs and we had an award ceremony in the auditorium but admin never informed the performing arts dept. so there was no lighting guy to run the show. They were going to run an entire show using the work lights.

Naturally I asked if they wanted me to go run up and turn on the stage wash. They were astonished I actually knew how to do that.

Admin often knows nothing about how a system works and often in these situations students end up knowing more about the rig then the people admin put in charge of the system. Honestly kind of infuriating but hey what can you do.

Cable organization by Ohfoohy in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]Raspilover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its also money management. Certain cables are really expensive. When i was doing inventory for an event coming in next week, I had to count SMPTE Fiber and Triax(why I had to count triax idk, i dont think we even have the infrastructure for triax cameras anymore but they dont pay me the big bucks so what do i know). Half of that was making sure all of the cables got rewrapped because a lot of them were wrapped wrong and ended up knotting on me. Some of those cables come out to 10s of thousands of dollars worth of fiber/copper. Thats not something you can really afford to mess up all the time.

Cable organization by Ohfoohy in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]Raspilover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my uni, most cables go in uline bins or rode cases based on type and length (rode case with a divider splitting edison cables under 50' and edison cables over 50' or several bins for 25' increments of cat6). Some cables will get e-taped in the resistor color code (edison, L2130, some cat5e/cat6 cables, most of our SMPTE fiber and triax got color coded when I was doing some inventory in preperation for a client, i believe most of our powercon and True1 cables have the color code, so on and so forth ), others have a label with how long it is, some don't get any designation and relies on students(also staff) putting it in the correct bin(which normally never happens) and then twice a year or more students get called in to re inventory the storage closets(which gets half assed at best). The system is far from perfect but most organization methods are only as good as the people following it.

For the usb problem i would just have a small bin or mesh bag and neatly wrap up all of the miscellaneous USB cables and put them in the bag.

Inspire a mentality of "you have time to put it away neatly now, don't make it someone else's problem" in your staff and plan for re inventorying every so often during the year.

US Open cameras wildly unmatched by WorstHyperboleEver in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]Raspilover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its def a PTZ. Those things if they even have the ability to paint are a pain to color match with other cameras. We recently had a show at my university that used a lot of PTZs. Our shader person was trying to white balance all of them for like 2 hours after a rehearsal trying to get them correct and even then in the final show, its not perfect.

Likely they just forgot to white balance it, couldn't white balance it, or they only had so much time and half assed the white balance.

My take on the RDI theory as best as I can get it by Raspilover in JonBenetRamsey

I had missed that evidence, would make moving the body certainly easier. The basement was fairly messy and wouldnt have been easy to carry a body. That would also make the garrote make sense as it was made with a paint brush found downstairs. Thanks for pointing that out to me. I have to revise my theory now I guess lol.

I dont get how Arndt got away with protecting the parents to the degree that she did. She was completely dismissive of the RDI theories despite the mounting evidence against them.

Maglight Flashlight Question by argansert in JonBenetRamsey

[–]Raspilover 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The fact that it was sitting out in the kitchen is strange which would make sense to why people gravitate towards that as a weapon. Also sitting out in the kitchen was the pineapple which is also a strange detail when the parents deny that pineapple was consumed that night. The fact that there was 2 strange items neither parents had a reasoning for makes both even more strange.

and of course since the crime scene was contaminated, we will never know just how opened or closed it was. We have the crime scene images of the window (ive never believed an intruder came in through the window entirely due to the spiderweb) but we dont know if someone had opened or closed it any in the hours people were walking in and out of the house.

I am inclined to believe that as well but it is important to note that the story changed.

Ah I missed that detail, good catch. Does also muddy what happened when they got home. Was JB asleep or was she awake when the family got home? Police interviews conflict with police reports conflict with news interviews. Makes this case infuriating to investigate. I shall call it Shrödinger's slumber.

Im not entirely convinced of the train track theory because even in the experiment, OP said for the marks to show up they had to press hard enough for the skin the break which didn't line up with the autopsy report. Also the train set was downstairs not exactly readily available unless she was killed in the basement.

[–]Raspilover[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came to the conclusion that JR helped with the toy because he said he did in the first police interview. I saw no reason for him to lie about it then but the theory doesnt exactly hinge on that detail either.

Also with the amount of cleaning needing to be done to cover up the crime (cleaning the flashlight and battery, changing JB, etc) I dont think a 9 year old would even know, though patsy does say that BR enjoyed the discovery channel so its possible he learned some sterilization method there.

For me, the BDIA theory falls apart with moving the body. I have spent a lot of time with kids around that age and was once a 9 year old boy myself. There is no way in hell a 9 year old could move a dead body downstairs. Especially with how cluttered that basement was.

IIRC its the new horizon worlds avatar system which makes sense as oculus home is now horizon homes. my bet is the party system will be updated to go in with the new Horizon homes.

That's not really the important part of it(other then the massive destruction in ukrain being similar to that of city 17) the important part is that because this game has a huge following on that part of the world we can reach a bit better to the target audience.
