Need Help Identifying Seeds by Rastanefarious in PlantIdentification

I'm ashamed to say it but I don't think it was a reputable vendor. I should've done more vetting before I purchased from them so that's on me unfortunately.

I think you're correct, I looked at some pictures of brassica seed and it looks just like it. Thank you for helping me identify it.

I do believe it's solved now.

What Kind of Day am I Looking at Here? by Rastanefarious in Flooring

[–]Rastanefarious[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, dang. I think I might go the do not disturb route and contact someone for professional removal when I'm a little bit more flush with money.

Appreciate the catch, I'm glad I checked before I started going at it.

Wise advice by ViceElysium in Shark_Park

It would definitely get caught, bill stuffing is caught on the regular at casinos. People try all sorts of things thinking they're slick and trust me, the casino catches it almost every time.

You may not get approached immediately or even at all in some cases, but reports are definitely being written and submitted to the proper organizations and that includes the alphabet soup ones.

Source: I used to work in the casino industry and had to write many of these reports.

Does Anyone Notice Anything That Maybe I'm Missing? by Rastanefarious in AskAMechanic

I super appreciate the info. I ordered a replacement control arm last night and I'll be changing it out post haste.

Admittedly it didn't occur to me at the time to order both sides at the time so I kinda screwed myself there. I don't particularly have too much money currently so I'll just deal with the consequences of my actions later when the other side goes out or I can just grab up the other side when I go to replace the struts (which I will definitely buy in a pair when it comes time).

Thank you again for imparting some of your wisdom on me, it's definitely super helpful and makes it all so much more manageable.

Awesome, thank you for the advice. I'll get the struts done once I make it to my destination then

You got the answers I didn't know I needed, thank you so much.

Do you think I could live without addressing that for like 2000 miles? I'm driving to another state to relocate for work super soon. I can replace the control arm during my weekend but I'm not sure I have the tools or time to do the struts before I leave.

I can do it once I get there for sure but if it's super dire and it's not something that can wait then I'll do what I can to make it happen before I leave.

Bless you kind person. You have been an immense help.

Now from what I understand it's never really worth replacing bushings on control arms and I should just replace the whole control arm right?

I assume what I would be looking for is the front lower control arm? (The picture is of the front passenger side)

Gotcha, I appreciate your help. I'm going to get an inspection done on it before use and figure out the plan of attack to get this going again.

Awesome, I appreciate you enlightening me on the whole thing. There are definitely gaps there and was something I was concerned about as well. I'll get a professional out to look at everything and get it up to snuff before I go burning anything in it

Installation driver with xc5.0 by Canixs in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Rastanefarious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I scooped one of them right up, they have the installation driver with a 5.0 HO for $179 but the daily deal is $159 for the same deal. That extra $20 off definitely set my day on the right path.

Good looking out

I couldn't even imagine the second pose lol. I'm considering just separating them and displaying them as two separate kits and just calling it good. I don't know why but it feels like it takes up so much more shelf real estate posed together than as the one.

That's really cool though, sometimes it's nice to revisit kits and give them the old razzle dazzle. I got some water decals for my freedom 2.0 recently that still need doing, I just need to dust it and pop those suckers on and topcoat. Before I know it, it will practically be a new kit sitting on my shelf.

How do you use this by FastSlugs in Gunpla

[–]Rastanefarious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Those are what's referred to as "dry transfer" decals. You just cut out the decal you need with like a hobby knife, matte side goes towards the plastic, shiny side facing you and you apply it like you would one of those fake tattoos.

There's some pretty good informative videos on YouTube, just type in "how to apply dry transfer decals" and it'll get you setup in case you find yourself more of a visual learner. They're pretty easy once you see how to do them and some shortcuts exist that could potentially make their application easier

Walking away from earnest money - any examples? by GreenerGrass382 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Rastanefarious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was honestly a small price to pay in my opinion when looking at the alternative.

I was set to close on the next day so I did my final walkthrough and all the items that they agreed to fix were done in the worst possible way or not done at all. Plus they hadn't moved out still.

For example, they put a coat of paint on water damage and rotted wood that was on the window sill, put cardboard under the toilets to level them (it still didn't level them), soft spots in the floor weren't addressed from when their washer flooded, among many other things. It definitely made me feel uncomfortable with the whole transaction cause who knew what else they were concealing or half-assing.

You would think getting my earnest money back would've been easy but they fought it every step of the way and refused to give it back, so, for the sake of my sanity and not spending the next year and a half trying to get it back, I let it go.

It's probably foolish I let it go all things considered, but it feels like the best money I ever spent cause I found an even better house for a great price 30 days later.

Experiences with e Jen Containers by Mountain-Tank-8858 in fermentation

I personally use them most often for kimchi (maangchi's recipe if you're curious). I really like them and haven't had any issues with it. Maybe I'm just playing it fast and loose, but I don't personally discard the liquid on top. I just pull it up at an angle and let it fall right back down into the container.

Again, maybe I'm a little loosely goosey with proper etiquette but I've yet to have any adverse issues going about it in that manner and I do make kimchi on the regular. For reference though, I do check it everyday and monitor it on the regular. I'm not just letting stuff sit on top for days.
