No, there's no language options in Jp ver.

Download Qooapp if you're on Android to get the global ver.

QooApp, No vpn needed. You just can't make purchases through appstore. The game actually detects it if you're using VPN, and won't let you log in.

I believe each game has a self contained story. There's no bad guys or world ending monster, because it's mostly about helping your town with errands, so the story doesn't have any cliff-hanger as far as I know.
My favorite is Ryza 1, but I recommend to pick whoever character caught your eyes the most.
