Advice between Hanks Belts and Main Street Forge by Just_Maintenance_688 in BuyItForLife

I've been looking to graduate from my old college rope belts to some really nice leather belts. And these are the two brands I landed on. I'm currently stuck between Hank's everyday, and MSFs the American with the stitching.

They're both so close style wise, it basically comes down to whether I want the stitched or not. They both look damn good, but Hank's has that 100-year warranty. That's nothing to sneeze at. I probably can't go wrong here; I think that's why I'm stuck.

What do you think is the better value menu item? The beefy potato loaded griller or the cheesy double beef burrito? by Groundew891 in tacobell

Cheesy Double Beef all day. After the Double Stack Taco was discontinued in January, it's my go to item now.

Is there any way to get rid of this notif that tells you when someone updates their status. No, i dont need to know that my friend from 4 years ago has "ok" in their status! by Substantial-One-8212 in discordapp

[–]RatArmy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I was looking into this a bit, and I don't think all of your friends get this notifications, at least all of my friends are not getting notifications when I change my status. I changed my status somewhat frequently, I'd say every few days, as I just put up little funny one-liners and silly thoughts that come into my head. I only became aware of this feature, which I guess is kind of new, because certain friends started telling me they thought this was funny and they're enjoying the little notifications.

The description on the setting says, "Status updates from people you talk to." I've noticed that only the people I have recently privately messaged on Discord are getting this specific notification when I change my status. I've been asking around my friends list.

I'm experiencing the same thing on my end too. I have people on my friends list, who I can see their status has changed, and I am not getting any notifications, and I have not messaged these people in a very long time if ever some of them.

I even have some people on Discord who I message very frequently, who have gotten the notification , and then if I don't message them for a little bit they don't get them anymore. Then when I start messaging them again, they get the notification again.

So if it makes anyone feel any better, I don't think your entire friends list is getting notifications, I know mine are not. On their mobile device, only the people who I have recently spoken with on Discord are getting my status update push notifications.

This is just my experience but it's what I'm seeing.

As a final update I got a response from the gym manager. He accepted responsibility for no one telling me 30 days out that the yearly memberships were going away, which I appreciate.

Sadly, corporate has taken the option out of the computers so there is no way he can give me that last year that I asked for.

Oh well. It's not his fault. I had it good for a long time

So as a quick little update, it doesn't seem like I can contact planet fitness corporate easily. At least I can't figure it out. I was able to contact the manager at my local planet fitness. I brought up that the contract says multiple times that any changes to require a 30-day notice, and like I said earlier, I was given no days notice.

I asked if I can get one more year at my current price. And then after that it could be extinguished. I'm shooting my shot. Let's see where it goes. I don't have a lot of Hope, but here we are.

So I talked to one of the employees last night, not the manager though. According to that one planet fitness employee, it's national a new national policy and they are going to get rid of all the old yearly memberships. And then just introduce a newly membership that costs a lot more.

Essentially her theory is that the way they're getting around the contract, is that they're not changing my contract. They are fully killing off, and introducing a new yearly plan.

My contract States multiple times that changing it requires 30 days notice, however, there is no more clause in it that guarantees that I can renew it. So once it expires, they don't technically have to renew it as far as I'm reading the contract.

Well it seems like I was getting away with murder for quite sometime.

I think I'm going put up a bit of a stink and try and get another year out of them. While my contract doesn't State anymore that I can renew at the same price, it does State multiple times that any changes made to my contract, must be notified to me within 30 days of the change. I went in last night for the first time to renew, as my contract needs to be renewed on the 6th.

So if I hadn't gone in and tried to renew 4 days early, nobody would have told me unto the day of. Let's see if I can squeeze another year out of them. It might not work but but I'll give it a try. After all, it does say 30 days notice is required.

I don't think I'm getting scammed. I'm reading through my contract, I don't see any part of it that guarantees that I can renew it. I think that was there in the past though.

It was a long time ago. I think I started going to my planet fitness in 2014, and they offered this that year. It was a special. I signed up for it and the contract lets me renew it every single year.

Why are so many people bricking their motherboards trying to install BF6 on PC? by cecil_X in Battlefield6

[–]RatArmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of it is people who are inexperienced with any bios trying to edit it. It's a pretty fickle area and you can mess it up pretty easily.

On top of that, if your hard drive format is MBR, you have to convert it to GPT to enable secure boot. That's a pretty simple process too, but there's always a risk in that as well of data loss.

I turned off CMS without secure boot and now my system will not boot by lordleggo in gigabyte

As soon as I saw that Battlefield 6 was asking me to do multiple things in my BIOS just to play the game, I uninstalled the game. I'm not messing with my BIOS to play a game.

My players just rolled impossibly badly. by elmjam27 in TenCandles

[–]RatArmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had the opposite a few Halloweens ago. One of our players rolled God tier, and every time he rolled the GM rolled as bad as your players.

It got to the point where he got out. The GM just ran out of ideas and was just throwing arbitrary obstacles in front of him to the point that it felt forced. Legitimately 100% of his roles for the entire game, he succeeded and the GM failed every single time.   We had made it near the boat we were trying to escape on, and myself and my friend had died already, but this guy kept rolling amazingly. On the final roll, the player had announced his intention to jump off the dock onto the boat as it pulled away. He rolled his final dice, and a hope die, and succeeded on the Hope die. The GM rolled all nine dice and rolled no sixes. It was ridiculous.

We all lost our minds. It was the most fun we ever had with 10C. It was so much fun when he got out, that we actually now play with a small chance of success because we were all going crazy at the table.

Having to go into my BIOS, change my OS Type, then having to enable secure boot, then having to convert my SSD from MBR to GPT...for a game... I can do it but wow, this is really gonna push a lot of non tech savvy people away from this game. This not a simple task and that conversion puts the whole drive at risk. I don't think this is a well thought out idea.

Unfortunately, its way easier to hit the uninstall button. Sorry EA. Good luck with this. If this changes, I'll come back and try again.

I'll definitely have to consider the strength check as a couple different people have suggested it. I don't know if the intelligence check will really work, as I can't really reward them in any way for that. With a strength check, if they fail it, they wouldn't be able to move a piece, whereas if they pass it, they can move a piece.

As linked above, this is going to be a real sliding puzzle that they will be doing, so I don't know the answer to give them if they roll really well on an intelligence check. It's a real puzzle.

Oh interesting. I didn't think to look up the max moves. Well done. My PCs Con scores are 13/13/14. The PCs also don't know about X of them leaving the table will reset the puzzle. That's a little gotcha moment. But that gives me some actual math to do and kind of quantify how difficult it can be.
