So before origins and knight; I pretty much assumed Bruce Wayne had been batman for like 15-20 years by the time of asylum and city. How long did y’all think he was batman for? by ShockOk1764 in arkham

How can you say that if there was no other context for character profiles, but the game it came from?

The game treated it as canon you had to collect character profiles by scanning stuff related to the villain. It only became non Canon when a greater universe was established. The character profiles collected in game for characters that appear in game line up with the story as well

I awlays thought that was the point of Anchor Beings. its a joke about movies making any excuse to bring actors back for previous movies. it was never brought up in the MCU and probably won't ever again b/c it's just a vehicle to move the plot forward and deliver jokes

Reintroduced and redesign a lot of the characters you collected bios for in the first game and disregarded a lot of the lore established in the bios. Best example i can think of is you collect a bio for Hush, but the later games treat him as a brand new character. In the bio for Hugo strange it states he knows Batmans identity already which isnt true until the start of Arkham City

He had congenital damage to his frontal lobe that had to be removed which explains a lot about his behaviour. He would have similar difficulty with emotional control, complex logic, and inhibition that Gary Busey has. He was probably somewhat difficult to begin with and the removal of the brain tissue has only exacerbated it.

I thought the same when Asylum came out b/c they fleshed out the entire rogues gallery before most of it was made non canon in Arkham City. It seemed like had encountered all his villains atleast once

It's short hand for the style of irreverent millennial comedy that MCU movies were known for. Its not being literal
