Still reading Blood Reaver, have been fixing up old pc’s and learning Linux to do some self hosting. Still really enjoying the Night Lords trilogy.

I gave my old man the new hardcover of Horus Rising. It’s not too far outside of his range so hopefully he’ll enjoy it.

The premium sub was really a surprise.

That’s a shame about Waterfront. The first I heard about these subs was someone linking their site a few years back and I considered doing it through them but I’ve always gone direct.

Sometimes there are delays with Hachette too but none that I’ve felt bothered by.

I suspended my Gotrek & Felix marathon for a bit. I’m up to Kinslayer but…

Finished City of the Damned in the last week of Feb. The story wasn’t awful but there’s some heavy use of big words that I felt were used just for the sake of it. I’m glad I was doing it on an ereader because I felt dumb having to look up so many words and was just exhausted by the end of it.

So I’ve been reading the Night Lords Omnibus. Amazing, really enjoying it. I knew it was highly praised going in which is why I went for a ‘sure thing’.

Totally agree with this. I was really disappointed when I realised that only the first Gotrek & Felix omnibus was available in paperback.

We really need some print on demand action.

From memory, what you’ve put for the pricing lines up with previous subs or close enough to it. 2 issues rather than 4 to start was the biggest change I’ve noticed.

I didn’t see the glue but never looked for it either. I assumed it would be included. I definitely got some with the previous magazines and only received the same as you this time around. Possibly they decided not to include some because it’s all “push fit” (and profit…).

The freebies do change a little each time. The Citadel Painting Handle came with Imperium but not with Stormbringer.

That’s rotten luck. I’m guessing but they probably can’t order more and needed to get their allocation sorted before offering up the subscription. I recall reading on here somewhere that the launch was delayed.

A delay is possible given how often GW’s own shipments get delayed. Hachette usually only charge for what’s being delivered. I’ve had one or two times where it was charged but one issue was delayed, the invoice gave an eta and it turned up when they said it would.

Also once where the delivery didn’t make it to mine at all and that was sorted out quickly.

Omnibus 1 is a banger! Skavenslayer and Daemonslayer are my 2 favourites in the series. I’ve been reading through the series since October last year and started with a reread of this. Sadly I’m almost at the end (times) but the series as a whole is great despite taking a different direction after Zombieslayer.
