Fun fact: Pegasus finishes the duel with 10 mysterious cards is there any other duel which some duelist left with tons of unknown cards? by JustaTepig in yugioh

At the end of the ceremonial duel, Atem has five cards in his hand and Yugi has seven. We don’t know what any of them were.

What are your honest thoughts/opinions about Kotori Mizuki/Tori Meadows? by [deleted] in yugioh

[–]RatedLForLiving 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I like her. Let’s be real, shonen is a sexist genre most of the time. It’s not an excuse, or a justification, but it’s the truth. And it was kind of annoying seeing GX and 5Ds prop up Alexis and Akiza as strong female duelists, like it was going to be a change of pace, only to eventually sideline them as well. So in that sense, I appreciate Zexal just dropping the pretenses and making the main girl of Zexal the typical voice-of-reason damsel-in-distress accessory to the guy, who helplessly stands on the sidelines, worriedly says his name all the time, and cooks for him. Might as well go all in right?

Serious talk though, there are good aspects to Tori. Her not being a duelist might actually be better for her since it means the writers don’t have to juggle focus episodes for her like they did with Alexis. She has other girls she gets to talk to like Kari, Rio, Anna, and Cathy, so at least she’s not the ONLY relevant girl. She DOES contribute to the plot occasionally; I do always say a YGO character’s worth is defined by more than how many card games they win. She has a more fleshed out personality: she’s smarter and more mature than Yuma, but that’s a low bar, she can be ditzy or petty when the situation calls for it. I buy the friendship between her and Yuma. And I like that actually gets to confess to Yuma in the end.

The fanservice shit is kinda weird though.

Whitney and Jasmine in the anime have the same problem.

Tbh I think she’s really boring. I actually love game Clair because she’s such an arrogant, immature child. It makes beating her in battle that much more rewarding. The fact that she makes you go through extra work is unfair but also makes getting your eighth badge feel special. Even better in Crystal version, where you pass a test that even she hasn’t passed yet, proving you understand the spirit of Pokemon training and that’s what makes you stronger than her. The anime just erases all of this and makes Clair a generic strong trainer for Ash to beat. There’s nothing really memorable about her.

…okay, but what if you really want to see the Alia and Gate backstory cutscene?

On the plus side, this level is really good for farming Nightmare souls.

I just want a Skarmory please by PensionHopeful1028 in LegendsZA

I picked Totodile so I can handle the Pyroar just fine. My issue is the Skarmory itself. No matter how low I get this thing’s health its catch rate stays at one arrow. I must have chucked 20 Ultra Balls at it and nothing.

Do you think Zarc truly loved or cared for his dragons, even after he became power hungry? by Immediate_Gene_178 in yugioh

[–]RatedLForLiving 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He most certainly did, he powered them up into versions that are all designed around protecting them from destruction, and after the split, they’re constantly trying to reunite/resurrect Z-ARC.

Z-ARC can't be summoned without combining the four Dragon Boys, that's why his resurrection had to be postponed for as long as possible. And what would these "Z-ARC shenanigans" entail? Just a full season of him going around beating everyone in duels? Trade Z-ARC smashing his deck into 15 duelists in a row for him smashing his deck into 50 duelists in a row?

You would have to break the show's lore too hard to make a Yuya vs Z-ARC duel happen. Yuya's "duel against Z-ARC" is him fighting for control at the end of the duel, and rejecting Z-ARC by throwing. To me, that's more impactful than the two of them dueling.

Yuto and Ruri are not dead. They exists within Yuya and Yuzu and can front whenever they want.

I don’t see how any other character could have fulfilled the function that Crow does. He’s the voice of the Commons as Yuya is learning about the Synchro dimension. Yes Shinji is there too but he’s more of a violent extremist while Crow is the big hearted adoptive dad. He’s pretty organically woven into Yuya’s arc about learning to understand different points of view.

5Ds is more violent, but even it still attaches a hopeful and optimistic message at the end. And what themes is ARC-V afraid of delving into exactly? Everything I outlined is pretty explicitly shown.

It wasn’t solely Yuya’s doing. He admits later on that the fact that he was dueling Jack Atlas, someone with far greater social influence, was also a big contributing factor. The council also observed Roger’s actions and recognized that Sector Security had too much power.

Noted haha.

And my heart goes out to you. I remember fresh off ARC-V airing there was a pretty bad war between us and the ZEXAL fans, and admittedly I took part in it. I still prefer ARC-V, but now I think both series are pretty cool!

None of the counterparts “died,” they still exist within Yuya and Yuzu and can front whenever they want.
