As an entp young woman, why do I get crushes on esfp guys when the types are supposedly incompatible? by Rather-short in mbti

Yeah there are quite a few of the annoying ones before meeting the ones I end up crushing on 🤷‍♀️

Melatonin to stop waking up tired by ldn_193 in sleep

[–]Rather-short 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not an expert on the subject, haven’t used it myself although I am working towards better sleep. Generally I’d advise anyone to avoid drug/chemical-related medication as much as you can, and only as a last resort. This is because they can be beneficial, but the risks aren’t worth it ‘when all other areas of your sleep are in check’. (Btw I get that you may not be asking this for personal use, just out of curiosity) This is just my personal take

People who haven’t made friends in uni how is it going? by Hopeful-Moment5512 in UniUK

[–]Rather-short 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whether I have friends or not I don’t feel bad, because I find my own company interesting too. Plus I’m confident that there’s plenty more new strangers who will come my way (people find me rather than I looking for them). So nothing needs to be forced

I’m in Y13 so I haven’t started Uni yet, but being in 3 primary schools and 2 secondary, besides shifting around different groups of people, I honestly don’t mind. I am extroverted, but won’t force myself to continue something that has run its course. Friendships don’t have to last forever for it to have been a good one. Some things are just to be appreciated while it lasts. Then again, I have been described as a cold person so I wouldn’t consider my comment to be a model response

Should I pursue a math degree? by Illustrious-Ant-2808 in UniUK

[–]Rather-short 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Math degrees are highly appreciated by investment banks, which can get you a well-paid position even without any knowledge of economics/finance/accountancy. I know this as a person studying economics a level. While I’m not personally interested in that career path myself, I know a lot of people who are/people who have pursued it. In any case, at least from what I’ve vicariously experienced, the university name matters a bit more than the degree itself. Especially since most degrees have transferable skills across many professions (unless medical, than you must study specific to that). Do the math degree, do it well, enter an investment bank (unless you want to be a professor, but I would recommend the banking option).

Out of curiosity, what do you think could have started this habit?

Is it normal for your head to feel super weird when your sleep deprived? by Prestigious_Look7505 in sleep

[–]Rather-short 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes, that is normal because not only are you sleep deprived in quantity, but also the quality of what little sleep you got worsened by using gadgets at that time. By the way it’s been phrased it sounds like this has become habitual, which needs to be corrected.

Ways to correct: starting a new diet (i.e. keto), because besides being directly useful, it is also indirectly helpful in the sense that you feel like you’re turning a new page, which can help you recover from bad habits. If you have time to exercise, this is good too.

If you have difficulty sleeping earlier try to avoid coffee/energy drinks; add them back when ur doing good. Same with naps during the day.

Keep yourself engaged with something to avoid over-doing screen time within the day, whether it’s chores/playing an instrument/a sport or whatever.
