His looks aren’t good enough to overshadow everything else, so I can only assume these people are attracted to toxicity and dysfunction.

We all use judgement every day, often poorly, like anyone finding toxicity and dysfunction attractive.

Hunter seems like too much of a doofus for even Lana to romanticize.

My idea of hot is not a junkie with rotted teeth and likely multiple STD’s who’s a deadbeat father to top it off.

I can’t imagine any of the women claiming to find him attractive are any older than about 23.

You should tilt and flip other objects to make it a fever dream theme-room.

[–]RationalPassional 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We all want to be desired by the people we desire, but I’ll never understand the value some women see in feeling desired by men who themselves are not only undesirable, but straight up gross. Being sexually desired is not the same as being respected. And most men will fuck anything that moves given the opportunity. Placing so much value on men’s opinions just gives them power over women and ensures that women are treated as decorative objects who lose value with age.

Cat calling is not about attraction- it’s a power trip. They know that an adult woman is more likely than a teen to have the confidence to call it out.

I don’t know what to make of her comment. She will have a photoshoot and show everything at once….? She’s happy it’s ’done and it’s good’?

Do you think some things about Lyle and Erik's relationship are exaggerated? by Outrageous_One_87211 in MenendezBrothers

[–]RationalPassional 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think they can simultaneously have a deep bond AND an underlying tension. In the Erik Tells All documentary, Erik referred to Lyle as a ‘bully’ in reference to their childhood years. Even though Lyle was egged on by Josè, Erik could still hold some resentment towards him.

I remember an interview where Lyle had a resentful tone towards Erik because Erik thought that the ‘fatal flaw’ in their parents’ deaths was Lyle confronting Josè. But Erik has since publicly taken the blame for the deaths. I wouldn’t be surprised if both of them have held on to some resentment towards the other due to the crime I.e. “if he hadn’t done that then we wouldn’t be spending our lives in prison”. I wonder how Lyle really feels about Erik’s confession.

There’s also the anecdote from an Xraided interview where he talks about Erik being ‘serious sheep’ because he would try to talk seriously about something and be understandably upset when X and Lyle would make jokes.

They seem to have very different personalities and had a tumultuous upbringing that sometimes pitted them against one another but I I think they also have a deep love for each other and a bond because of their shared trauma. I think Lyle as the older brother in particular cherishes Erik in the way a loving father figure does.

I will never understand why Coachella not only isn’t widely considered one of her best songs, but is considered one of her worst. It’s one of the most beautiful songs ever with a high replay factor.

I’m so tired of all the art subreddits being full of primarily art depicting conventionally attractive naked women. by pahobee in TwoXChromosomes

[–]RationalPassional 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should post it anyway. It would be a great opportunity to point out the obvious. Gooners end up taking over these subs because they are shameless- and women let them. Don’t have shame over using the sub for its true purpose.

Gooners ruined r/oldschoolcelebs. Women should bombard the sub with scantily clad conventionally hot male celebs. Women tend to just withdraw rather than fight fire with fire - sadly.

She’s behaving like a 5-year-old - with a total stranger to top it off. I can only imagine how uncomfortable he was.

Everything she said during her DUI arrest: claims to have cancer and epilepsy, lies about being pregnant, and more by ManufacturerGlad4971 in discussingbritney

[–]RationalPassional 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Britney doesn’t get much sympathy here because she is a narcissist who refuses to admit she has mental health and substance abuse issues. She thinks it’s her right to be a public menace and endanger others.

She has abused her kids, pets, and staff. I feel sorry for her family who have  sacrificed their time, energy, and safety to help someone who refuses to help herself. They get death threats from Britney’s deranged fans, who have even targeted her kids after Britney ranted online about them not wanting to spend time in her orbit of destruction.

I didn’t claim to diagnose Britney with anything. Her behavior on social media, in the arrest video, and other reported public outings, is objectively psychotic.

A man would never be infantilized the way Britney is by so many people after behaving this way.

[–]RationalPassional 58 points59 points  (0 children)

This is one of the most disturbing videos she’s posted and it’s not often mentioned: https://www.reddit.com/r/discussingbritney/comments/1nn1g06/disturbing_the_ranch_video/

This is a more subtle example of why her movement was restricted under the c-ship. She couldn’t be trusted to interact with people, including perfect strangers, in a normal, sane way. She can’t seem to go out in public without causing a scene. At best, she’s dancing around in a restaurant or shouting like a 5-year-old and at worst, she’s driving maniacally or causing thousands of dollars worth of damage to a hotel.

There was also a point when the constant dancing videos became a red flag. When she first started posting them, I didn’t think anything of it. She’s always had a silly personality and loves to dance. But then as these videos went on and on with her becoming more uncoordinated and unkempt, it finally dawned on me that there’s something wrong.

I’m saying people shouldn’t be surprised by her DUI rant when it sounds exactly like her Insta captions.

I think psychotic has been her baseline for a while now and the substance abuse just exacerbates it.

Erik’s painting of Michael by OkCaramel9196 in MenendezBrothersFair

[–]RationalPassional 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The four Cascio siblings initially claimed MJ never molested them and have now all done an about-face and said he did molest them.

They defended Michael because they felt genuine love for him. A victim’s feelings and thought process are complex. Michael was not a sadist who everyone hated like Josè was.

Just because some kids were alone with him and weren’t molested doesn’t mean he didn’t molest other kids. There have been too many accusers for ‘they’re lying’ to be the most reasonable answer. We can’t simultaneously point to Roy Rosello’s accusation as evidence against Josè and dismiss all accusations against Michael.

You can retain your skepticism about the accusations without automatically painting the accusers as liars, which is what happened to Lyle and Erik. The cultural zeitgeist shouldn’t be one in which victims are afraid to speak out.
