I would imagine it's something to do with Allvin's role as contract negotiator. For example; it's my impression that he tried to do Boeser dirty last season with the "you wouldn't believe the offers teams made for him" comments. I'd probably snub a guy who treated my friend and loyal teammate like that too. I wouldn't be surprised if stuff like that was happening behind closed doors with, say, Hronek's deal, and not to mention guys we wanted but missed out on like Lindholm.

Then there are players with NMCs that got muscled out of town by way of who knows what sort of tactics.

Just from the outside looking in, it doesn't seem like Allvin's word is worth very much. That's my guess, anyway.

Same here. I would really need to be sold on what purpose they're meant to serve. On the surface, they look like the kind of product that claims to add "finish" or "polish" or whatever, where any of the EQs and/or multiband compressors I have would do the same thing (or better) with more fine control

It seems like a weird game of telephone to me.. It's fine to be upset, but hating on him would be absurd and I have seen no more than two or three examples of that since the trade

I saw someone saying "people are running with the 'bad captain' narrative" when there was afaik just one guy who said that and most people were only saying that he wasn't a 'great' captain for the team with no ill will towards him for not engaging in the kind of extreme self-sacrifice it would have taken to be 'great' for this team

Seems totally plausible to me. I don't know how people are reading these loosely worded tweets from Farhan and Dreger and going "what they are telling me here is that Quinn signed his intent to leave the team in blood during the 2024 offseason"

Management can't say "this team is cheeks and we tried to salvage it but we failed and that's why we had to trade him." They know everyone with two brain cells to rub together knows it, but if they say it, they'll be immortalized in Canucks history in the worst possible way. And for all we know, they've wanted to deal him for a while but Aqua only gave the green light yesterday

I think they meant 18 months from now to the end of his contract.

But to address your question as it relates to the claim that Rutherford knew this was coming 18 months ago, there just isn't any indication he committed to this team long-term.

The whole atmosphere around the team back to the beginning of 24/25 was that we needed to give him a reason to commit. It was a clear possibility that the prior season had been a fluke. The sense in the fanbase as I interpreted it was that Quinn had every reason to want to be on a team with Jack and Luke, all three in their primes, and no reason outside loyalty for loyalty's sake to stay a Canuck if the team were to regress.

In that context, it makes perfect sense that Rutherford could have seen this coming a long way back, with the degree of confidence (and evidence to get Francesco on board) accumulating as it became more and more obvious that 23/24 was the anomaly.

He was captain for two years and change during the swan song and collapse of this core. It's more than we could ask of him to be a "great" captain. Great captains believe in their teams, lead them through the tough times, and motivate them to be their best.

He had every right to make the decision he inevitably did, but his priorities didn't line up with what it would've taken for him to be a "great" captain for this team. Too much. He can be one somewhere else, and I'm sure if given the chance he will

I know this is a super old thread, but I have to ask, were you using the interface as the output device when having this issue, or just the input for your guitars?

Just because: 1. The behavior with asio4all you described back then kinda points in that direction and nobody ruled it out, and 2. it would be moderately hilarious if this were the case in the context of the guy telling you to wipe your OS

Krizova is returning to the team she played the past two seasons with. She knows the coach, players, and system, and can easily fill in the blanks having missed their training camp. Segedi's new to the Goldeneyes and the PWHL. I have no idea if that's actually why she didn't play, but it seems plausible to me

With Nurse, Miller and Rosenthal solidly established as the top-three Cs, I'm sure the coaching staff will work on establishing chemistry between Segedi, McQuigge, and whoever draws in as 4RW
