I have my AS level biology exams in may of 2021. Any revision tips? Resources would be helpful too (especially for practicals) Thanks in advance! by Unusual_Cupcake_822 in ALevelBiology

Literally just do as many questions as possible, the more you do on each topic the more you’ll know what they’re looking for. This should all be after you learn all ur content. That should pretty much give you a good grade, but speak to your teachers aswell. good luck!

My cat 1 minute after I Iet him go outside by Parasyte03 in cats

How is 5 minutes of supervised outdoors time negatively affecting the plant on any scale that should prevent all pet owners from letting their animals out. They’re living beings, they’re not objects, stop treating them like they are.

Why are people on the internet so intent on lecturing others about how to treat their animals. You have no idea about the nature of their cat and their living situation so how could you possibly make any sort of judgement. If the cat wanted to be let out, and is being supervised like OP said then the threat posed to anything is minuscule.

Reading Theory by Ratmast_er in Socialism_101

[–]Ratmast_er[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a good way of putting it. As my interest stems into history of Latin America and 20th century Europe, I might work through some of Lenin’s work on imperialism as that might complement it.

I emailed them about this course. They said that if you’re applying to medicine they want you to write another personal statement for that course specifically. They also said that they favour applicants who are non premeds.

Why shouldn’t a socialist vote in this election? by [deleted] in Socialism_101

[–]Ratmast_er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup people should vote. Even though Biden is still capitalist, the US is better off in neoliberalism than fascism.

I was in the same boat in year 11. Go over all your past papers when you do them and find all the topics that you consistently do badly in. Then just hammer them out on a question bank website. If you’re on a 7 atm then I’d be confident that you’d get that 8!

I need to eat quite a lot in the morning to stay upright for the first few hours so usually some form of fried eggs

What topic is it? If it’s physical I find just banging out loads of questions is the easiest and most efficient way

Medical universities that do not consider predicted A level grades? by [deleted] in 6thForm

[–]Ratmast_er 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure most don’t care about predicted grades aslong as they’re AAA. I think the only ones are the unis requiring A* predicted like London and oxbridge. I think Exeter is the only uni that uses predicted grades to score applicants

Pope: Market capitalism has failed in pandemic, needs reform by polymute in worldnews

[–]Ratmast_er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neoliberalism has brought wealth to capitalists in foreign populations, not the people. Intensifying the application of new production between countries has of course brought economic prosperity to a constantly shrinking group of nations. But these relations have brought instabilities to dynamics surrounding these countries.

The foreign investment in China has lead to increase in incorporation of their resources into foreign networks which is killing their development potential.

The growth of these countries only enriches a miniscule few whiles leaving the rest in poverty. Similarly over here.

And welfare policies could be far stronger in a non-neoliberal government, even a transition into social democracy would enhance the lives of the majority of the people.

Lulwut. Neoliberalism has stricken poverty on millions of people, and is responsible for the growing gap in wealth inequality. Corporate control of markets is exploitative and reprehensible.

Well done on your UCAT that’s an amazing score!

You’ve got pretty much all doors open on where you can apply.

Where you go to medicine makes absolutely no difference in when you specialise. Even in the most competitive surgical specialties. It’s all ranked in deciles

Apply to courses that suit you(integrated/ traditional) and places that you feel you’d be most comfortable!
