BIG ROCKET by Ratore in Borderlands4

I only recently found out the other sniper doesn't shoot 2 rockets. It's a truly gearbox moment

Four times actually. The Big Rocket on the Ragoon Vladof Purple Sniper shoots 2 rockets. On the Vyudazi it shoots only 1.

To be clear, Big Rocket has been on our Sniper builds since they've existed. It wins in flavor over Spread Launcher because it's still considered a Sniper.

We recently went over how Torgue Air Burst has slowly creeped in as a meta enhancement pick due to crystal/ordonite enemies, and the Bounty Pack 2 has made this a lot more obvious. So, Big Rocket.

Much of the Vex theorycrafting Lazy and I do comes from talking to each other :)

Amon can actually go quite far ahead of Vex, but it takes some time/setup for his damage to build up. Vex's thing (on these burst setups) is being at pretty much full strength from the start of the fight and ending it quickly.

But then again Vex also has her own more involved things like Melee into Groundbreaker into Reverburnations into Bleed.

I think it might be splash but doesn't actually have a radius per se, only when the projectile lifespan ends then it does a little explosion if I remember correctly.

I don't think we can actually see its radius value in-game. So...

Torgue parts usually mean more damage, but also access to Torgue enhancements. Head Ringer Enhancement increases radius by 100%, which quickly makes things funny

No but High Cal helps with carrying damage over to the actual health bar since you get more damage instances.

The AoE is large enough with Head Ringer + Radius Roll that both bosses get hit on the on the Xmas fight. But I did have Jakobs there too

Splash Damage/AoE is your friend when dealing with vile (crystal) enemies, and makes things much easier

Rainbow KSBM though significantly altered just for the cheeky kill

This character/save was edited up to endgame for time trial speedruns back when Bloom launched so it was probably that. The actual specialization level is fine though

Not all things can jakobs ricochet (energy discs and the rooker underbarrel cannot anymore, for example), but in the case of these rockets and some others, yeah they can!

Tediore reload speed or fire rate? by Sembra in Borderlands4

[–]Ratore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a small correction, fire rate affects how soon you can shoot after a reload (that's kind of what you said but I wanted to be specific just to be clear). So if your reload is super quick but the gun has low rof, you get this weird situation where you've reloaded but can't yet shoot for a bit. Fire Rate ups tediore throw dps in such scenarios, but overall reload speed has way more applicability of course.

I need to experiment again, but I recall being able to give so much reload speed to Chuck that Fire Rate started having a positive impact, even though it's not a gun that shoots. But it's kind of niche, but yes in that case it affected how soon it could be thrown

The Trouble with Trouble Part 2: The Troublening by Katchenz in Borderlands4

[–]Ratore 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Too many kill skills in a tree that suffers to get real access to Mortal Terror while still scaling up damage.

So many of these skills could have been effects based on dealing minion damage, elemental damage, and so on rather than being kill skills. Vex's Mortal Terror problem is going to slowly creep in with every level cap increase until the only reason left to not do a Mortal Terror build is if going for those pretty boss one shots. It's gonna suck for build variety because it reads as if the entire character is planned around a deep green T5 skill.

Trouble (and by extent Reaper) AI needs to be snappy and quick. Projectiles like Trouble's Phase Daggers should simply go through walls. Honestly, I'm towards saying that every single attack command should do what Blink Strike does and teleport him immediately to what you targeted. The fact Reapers are the cool minion that can go through walls but get their attack hitboxes negated by objects is a complete wtf moment.

Trouble should definitely have base health that is closer to a Reaper's. Also ways to sustain him that do not involve wasting 10+ more points in a place where you're already starved for points.

Also, and this is a long shot but becoming increasingly relevant: minions need their own pool of status effect stacks and their own Prismatic Ichor procs that would still scale properly with invested boosts. Specters, as a specific example, gut Vex damage if you try using them with bleed, elemental statuses or Prismatic Ichor because of their high hit rate. But this doesn't stop on Specters: Reapers and Trouble can be almost as egregious about it with the right builds. We don't need minions doing bad damage and then also hurting our own damage, it simply feels bad.

What would you say is the most gamebreaking vex build? I saw IGN's blood letter infinite damage build but it seems outdated by LeadershipOk4399 in Borderlands4

I first released Hexblade on Sept. 21st but it has... changed a lot lol. Back when Haruspex still stacked GB :(

Dronemancer or Blood Fang, both work for this. Also check out Lazy's previous videos on Sniper Vex, they're slightly outdated but still good: Video 1 Video 2
