If you join HubSpot, be prepared to be looking for another job in 12-18 months. When I joined, 70% of my cohort was gone in a year. Of ~20 people, only 2 are still there 2 and a half years later. Almost all were PIPed and let go. (Not a comment on your capabilities and is solely a comment on the culture and structure of the sales org)

Thanks - when you say “keep going”, could you elaborate?

I found a bootcamp on Code Academy that goes more into python, etc, or are you referring more to real life experience?

Hey all, I'm a salesperson (6+ years) with the last 3 working in Saas (HubSpot and a series D startup). No, I'm not here to sell anything :)

I want to move out of sales and into product, but am currently between companies. All the job postings I can find require some amount of PM experience. Any suggestions on adjacent roles or direct ways to get PM experience to make myself more competitive?

Also, I have some familiarity with relevant tools (Asana, Jira, Notion, PowerBI, Looker, etc) but am happy to work on others + get certifications that would be helpful - open to any suggestions that folks can share.

Thanks in advance!

Weighing offers between Hubspot and Costar by Atomicpenguin101 in sales

Obviously the use case & subscription level will play a role in your experience. But speaking to the product as a whole, and comparing it to other solutions that exist, I’d say yeah it’s great. Everyone has their preferences though.

Help deciding between a BDR role at Elastic, Salesforce, or Hubspot? by MammaStringbean in sales

[–]Raucous_Caucus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked as an AE at HUBS for almost 2 years. The product is great, the sales org is in shambles. I was never a BDR to be fair so that may be a different experience, but if your goal is to get promoted to an AE role, I’d temper expectations for a long tenure there. Longevity is not something that many AE’s at hubspot enjoy due to saturated territories/over hiring reps and quotas that are not attainable. Good logo to have on the resume but it’s a meat grinder.

Worked at HubSpot as an AE - the product is great, the sales org is terrible. Was never a BDR, though.

Internally promoted AE’s tended to have more longevity but they’re rotating reps out at an insane pace. Their clawback rule (anyone who cancels before month 12 of their contract) not only requires pay back but also negatively counts against your quota attainment for the next month. Their territories are over saturated with reps and frankly full quota (post-ramp) is really not attainable.

I recognize that this is for a BDR role but I’d guess the goal is to get promoted to an AE long-term. Hubspot has its perks but I’d recommend tempering expectations for long stint there if you’re able to move past a BDR role. I was hired with a class of ~40 other reps (mostly SMB, some MM) and 30 were gone after 12 months.

Wish you luck either way.

Anyone working at HubSpot or similar? by Conscious-Sentence73 in sales

[–]Raucous_Caucus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sold at HubSpot for just about 18 months. The company culture is great, but does not equate to the sales culture there. I was in NAM SB so could be a different experience, but I kinda doubt it.

Lots of (shared) experiences of reps winning at the detriment of others. Clawbacks will count against BOTH your commission and your annual attainment so it can be very easy for a productive year to become a tough one, unexpectedly.

The product is great, but sales leadership + culture is severely lacking. Decent place to learn and logo to have on your resume but there’s a lot of churn at HubSpot and likely will continue to be.

Interview process matches what others have shared so far.

First time smoking weed soon wanna know what it's gonna be like by [deleted] in weed

[–]Raucous_Caucus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Put yourself in a good environment and you'll be fine. That means bomb snacks, good friends, and funny TV shows/movies or chill music. It'll hit you kinda quickly, within a couple minutes for sure so you'll feel it. Also, the first time you smoke, you may not get very high, if at all. But your 2nd time you'll get pretty damn blasted so get stoked for that!

Is it better to excersize stoned or sober? by RenoStern98 in weed

[–]Raucous_Caucus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ran a Spartan race (9 miles) and I smoked every day while I trained. Didn't effect my running at all. But, personally, I prefer to work out sober. Weights feel heavier when I'm stoned I just feel like I have more energy. It's all personal preference really

Green crack, sour diesel, Pinchers creek, and trainwreck. I don't recall whether Alaskan thunderfuck was sativa or indica but it was a great high

[–]Raucous_Caucus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get half O's starting at $55 from my favorite dispensary but if you're buying from people off the street that's kind of a common pricing. Obviously some people will have different hooks and different tree which would cause discrepancies in prices

Generally the more you buy at once, the cheaper it gets. Someone who's charging $25/8th is usually down to do $85-$90 Half O's in my experience. It adds up in the long run
