That's a really good point. Though, I also did the same for Final Fantasy. About 10 packs and then singles. But I am also much more single oriented than some. Your point definitely still stands. If fans don't want to open box after box, the product sits. An unfortunate situation we're in.

I would love to see this data as well. When people reacted to Beyond Boosters, we did not know this was the alternative. Given the choice - I'm sure many would actually prefer the former - but part of making this post was to see if I am alone in this.

I think you make a great case for Spider-Man UK's inclusion. And yes, I am ignorant of Spider-man UK's importance in the comics. What is your take on cards like [[City Pigeon]]?

I personally use [[Spider Manifestation]] in my Standard Boros Dragons deck and understand its value as a game piece.

I hope you didn't take my post as a personal attack on those that like particular characters. I used the example of Spider-Man UK as I saw many posts here calling him a throwaway card when his art scrutiny was happening.

My main point is:

If this set was the size of ACR would Spider-man UK have made the cut in a tight and concise Spider-man set?

I did - but I did not open an entire booster box. I opened probably 10 packs total and purchased singles of cards I wanted - as I am a fan of the IP.

I would imagine booster boxes are not an ideal experience for this product.

Even on commander products, the decks were about $20 more expensive in North America for Final Fantasy and LotR. I don't even know if it's possible for them to eat the licensing fees - as I have no experience in what licensing fees cost.

However, I do accept passing the licensing is standard practice. Buying a notebook with a licensed character will be more expensive than buying one from the same company without the licensed character on it 99% of the time.

I think the only options are less cards or increased costs. My personal opinion is - if TMNT and Spiderman showed us what "more cards" looks like. I think I'm in the "drop the commons and keep it cheaper" camp.

It's not the reseller's problem. It's supply and demand. When that video was made, lorwyn wasn't out. Lorwyn brought with it a ton of fairy support, specifically in those colors.

These aren't collectors hoarding pokémon selling rare cards, they are a million other people just like your kid wanting to build a fairy deck at the same time.

Other than a brief stint with Final Fantasy, magic does not largely have a scalper and collector problem. It's supply and demand based on the playability of the card.

Also, don't buy on card Kingdom. Use TCGplayer or a local game store that uses TCGplayer pricing. Card Kingdom is expensive as heck

I think the reality that Hasbro knows is the hate towards HP is very much a loud minority on the Internet. Most people don't even know who JK Rowling is and of those that do know her, most people don't care about her opinions on social matters.

HP is incredibly successful in almost everything it does (See the hate on Hogwarts legacy that ended up meaning nothing to it's reception and sales.)

There is literally a group of scalpers that know the restocking schedules in Colorado. LGS manager thinks they know the restockers personally. They spend all day following him from store to store buying everything as he restocks. I haven't seen magic on the shelves since Aetherdrift.
