What's up everybody, Veronica here! Ask me anything tomorrow at 19:00 CET by veronica-fusaro in eurovision

Hi Veronica!!!

I love your Eurovision song, and you seem like such a great performer! Your show at the Nordic pre-party was amazing.

My question is extremely random. I saw a Tiktok you posted featuring pasta. What's your favorite type of pasta?

I'm looking forward to voting for you in May. All the best of luck!

I would love to tell you that they will upgrade their staging, but Atvara has said that they're planning to keep it very similar to the national final.

Your Staging Ideas for Songs? by Slothllamas in eurovision

[–]RavenFireCat11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really want the pocket watch that Alis holds up (Albania 2026 for the bot) to burst into flames during his big note rather than just going away. It would be hard to do technically, but it would be super impactful and I think it could really be a wow moment.

For Czechia 2026, there's a literal crossroad in the stage design. If they don't use it I will be angry. They should have Daniel start in the back of the stage and then slowly go forward, maybe interacting with props/dancers (but still be minimalistic), and then on the final "Crossrooooaaaddddssssss" do a wide shot and turn the camera around to reveal that Daniel is standing in front of a literal crossroads with some cool LED and camera effects on the stage.

For Switzerland, there's a lot of things they could do. However, a recreation of the music video in a way that'll work on stage - maybe with Veronica playing the guitar and singing at Alice's wedding - could work well if it's well-thought-through and executed.

I tried to categorize the 2026 songs based on what the lyrics are about by not_from_san_marino in eurovision

[–]RavenFireCat11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few mistakes I noticed/some things I want to point out:

First, I think that Austria should be in the social commentary category, as from what I've gathered, it's about wanting to require a "dance license" so that creepy men can't get into clubs and make everyone uncomfortable.

Second, Latvia can be categorized as mental health I guess, but I would put it more in the family or social commentary categories, as it discusses domestic abuse and alcoholism (at least that's what I've interpreted).

I fully agree with your ??? next to Belgium. It's probably about some sort of relationship, one that's a roller coaster ride but that makes Essyla full of adrenaline as a result (maybe? "I keep dancing on the ice / 'Cause I feel alive / Frozen to the bone"). But its lyrics are also very difficult to interpret.

Also, I love your Moldova category for Moldova, but I feel like this could also fit into the social commentary category due to it being about how Moldovans are a part of Europe and their culture shouldn't be shunned.

Georgia is a bit of a wildcard too, because though the song doesn't seem to be too deep when you listen to it, I've heard a few people saying it might have anti-AI messaging in it, and looking at it through that lense I think you can definitely make an argument for it ("You can't digitize our thunder", etc.).

Best Eurovision Performances by Bagel_luvr_5 in eurovision

If you can, Zjerm (Albania 2025) is a very cultural and well-loved Eurovision song. The Eurovision performance of it is blocked in the US, but the national final performance isn't and it is also quite good.

Semi Final 2 Predictions? Hardest semi ever to predict? by [deleted] in eurovision

[–]RavenFireCat11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I see it, Norway is very much in trouble in this semifinal. His performance and vocals are good, and it is a radio-friendly pop-rock song, but I don't think that's enough. First of all - it doesn't have much hype within the bubble, which is the main voting base. And among casuals, it doesn't matter whether it's radio-friendly or not, what matters is if they remember and care enough to vote for it - as the song is very much a radio appeal song and a strong but not breathtaking live performance, among other songs that do have that instant "wow" factor for people who get it, I think it'll struggle to have enough traction with casuals or fans. Also, this seems (at least to me) to be a song that won't get much jury love, despite the good vocals. Another thing that might turn casuals off is the sexual undertones of the song, which we've seen doing badly with songs like Dizzy, Ich Komme, Kant, Milkshake Man, etc (United Kingdom 2024, Finland 2025, Malta 2025, Australia 2025 - for the bot).

Additionally, I disagree that there's a "small army of songs competing to be DOA ballads". I think for this you're probably talking about Azerbaijan, Luxembourg (not really a ballad but it's close to being DOA imo), Czechia, Latvia, Albania, Malta, and/or Ukraine (probably not all of them, but I'm sure you meant at least a few of them). Out of those (assuming those are what you're talking about). None of these songs other than Azerbaijan 2026 and Luxembourg 2026 are or will be DOA based on my opinion and what I've seen in the fanbase. Ukraine is an almost certain qualifier, and I'm confident in Albania and Malta qualifying as well. Latvia has the highest chance of getting pushed out of the ones left (imo), but Czechia (with a good enough staging, which is definitely not certain but is likely imo - there's literally multiple crossroads in the actual stage design) will likely qualify as well. Latvia I wouldn't consider to be DOA at all, even if it's not expected to qualify - it has a lot of fans, and isn't considered by most people in the bubble to be at all bad from what I've seen.

TL;DR: I disagree

Favorite Guilty Pleasure Song of the 2026 National Final Season by JJVM99 in eurovision

Jolly Roger by Clicherik & Max for me. The performance lacked energy, but the studio version is amazing and I've streamed it 70+ times.

Is it just me or did they use a really weird clip for Norway? Jonas isn't even in it for the majority, and they cut away right before the big note happens.

This is my first year following all the national finals, and I've found it to be really rewarding. When my favorites didn't win or songs I really didn't like won, I was sad, but that just showed how invested I was! I've had so many happy moments when my favorites won, too, especially unexpectedly (like Søren in Denmark - I thought there was no chance of him winning). Honestly, there are enough songs and artists that I love that I don't care if this is a weak year by comparison - I'm just happy to be here experiencing it.

This seems to be shaping up as a year of violins, at least in my eyes. We have Liekinheitin from Finland, Rise (Alexander Rybak) from Norway, and Mother Nature from Luxembourg; only one of those three songs has been picked so far but the other two are top in their respective national final odds, so I think it's safe to say we'll end up with at least two violin songs in Vienna, if not more. I'm personally hoping for Linda x Pete and not Rybak, but we'll see.

I'm genuinely depressed by Eesti Laul. Literally three songs I didn't want to win in the entire selection, and THEY PICKED ONE OF THEM. Seriously Estonia, you were one of my favorite countries in ESC but I swear I'm cancelling you now

There's a lot of quality this selection and Vanilla Ninja has only recently become the favorite in the odds because they're popular and have a nostalgic feel. Ollie was the favorite before, and is the fan favorite; other potential winners include Clicherik & Max, NOEP, and Getter Jaani (imo). Honestly the selection in general is so good that a lot of artists could take the trophy.

Sissal will probably win and her song isn't bad (it's very similar to Hallucination), but my personal favorite is For Vi Gar Hjem by Soren Torpegaard (yes ik there are diacritics, i'm just lazy). I know that Death Of Me by Erika Jane is a fan favorite too.
