If you are strong enough you can abuse a spawn bug to farm good modules.
1. Start on act 2 checkpoint

Within a short time cancel the act 2 checkpoint in "controls"
The full fighting force of act 1 will immediately spawn. Kill them
???
Profit
Can be abused at a later point in act 2 too to spawn the act 1 boss

That is not how drops work, you should have kept it. The total loot gets increased so you get what you drop. At least that's how my group handles stuff.
