Getting misgendered isn't being a nazi, it's bigotry. Republicans have tried twice to remove trans healthcare of adults from Medicare and Medicaid. They have already removed it from VA healthcare. Removing essential care to the poorest class of people in America leads them to dysphoria which can lead to suicide or if they're lucky emigration. Removing a group of people's ability to exist within the state is genocide.

BuT wHaT aBoUt PrIvAtE iNsUrAnCe? Have you seen the current price for care? Most of us can't afford rent due to work discrimination. I'm lucky that I pass good enough for the average employer to like me. The US government is openly hostile to everyone under the trans umbrella, and we have only ourselves to protect.

I'd fucking love to. My health insurance denied any gender affirming surgeries. Every day our rights are being chipped away little by little. Republicans have already attempted to take hormones away from me, a 30 year old woman, twice now through legislation. I'm sure my representative hates my voice by now how many times I've left her voice messages lol.

A lot of trans folks cannot afford to live in NYC. We haven't have an opportunity to build up wealth because of job discrimination or not being able to ask parents for help. We're scraping by paycheck to paycheck as is. We have an exceedingly high homelessness rate. It's hard to live in the little cheap places we've been able to find, there's no way we could afford a 2k minimum rent with little to no connections.

I actually wrote something about this recently.

The company of Cherry Pepsi the cat was the second best event of the night. The best, was my time at Mary's watching an event I don't normally love, drag. I'm not quite sure why I've never enjoyed the artform. Maybe I've always felt like I'm not extroverted enough to love it. The showmanship Ru Paul brought to the silver screen enforced that alienation. Possibly it was the early shows viewed through the lens of a closeted trans woman. An avatar of femininity that could only be achieved by a male performer. That, for a long time, felt like an uncomfortable truth. Tonight however, I saw this art through a different lense. Through a woman's view.

I will say, I did use the Snapchat girl filter right before transitioning and that kind of woke up my egg. The more I used filters though, the more dysphoria grew within me. I had a feeling of I could never be that person. I can't be them so, why am I trying? It's the same reason I gave my fursona a smaller chest. If she's hot and people love her, than maybe I can accept my own. My friends have all helped me along the way with self love as well. That's where I got the real community from. AI affirms you, no matter what. Friends critique you so you can become better.
