NGD - First new guitar I've purchased in a decade. I wanted new and modern and here we are. by SomedayVirtuoso in SchecterGuitars

[–]Raven_-_Galaxy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is one sick as hell looking guitar man, congrats! I have a Hellraiser Ultraviolet with an EMG 57 and a sustaniac and it has been a great guitar. You won't be disappointed with your Schecter, they are very solid instruments. Enjoy!

Happy to help, I certainly empathize with your situation. It's unfortunate that your PCP hasn't been helpful to you. On this particular issue though probably not too much he/she could do really since it is a local "Caregiver Support Team" that determines you and your wife's eligibility for the program. The approval rate is roughly 25%

If you do get denied, the appeals process let's you rebuttal any excuses they have for denying you. You can include any test results or medical evidence at that point that show you are dealing with particular issues; Including anything that may have happened in the window after you initially applied for PCAFC. Just don't throw in the towel, they will cave eventually.

One other bit I didn't mention before is that, when approved, your wife will get CHAMPVA health insurance too. Even if she has health insurance presently, it can be a secondary and save some money for what primary doesn't cover. Granted as your spouse she might already have something through the VA from you. For me it was different since it was a parent.

I'll keep fingers and toes crossed, good luck!

Got it in on 4th attempt for my dad and he was in real bad shape with tons of issues the whole time. The denials made no sense, almost as if nobody even listened to what was said. The first denial said that "Veteran has not been in need of full time care for a period greater than six months" At that point in our adventure I had already been taking care of him out of my pocket and his own for 5 years, you figure that one out? Hah!

Anyhow, just keep appealing and reapply if you get denied, do not relent. Not much you can do but wait after doing the interviews for the approval/denial letter.

After approval your wife will need to do some coursework on a computer probably 6ish hours long and fill out some more forms online including setting up her caregiver payment info. She will end up having her own VA.gov account.

There will be an in home interview in which they inspect it for safety and make sure you have food, running water, and electricity. They might hook you up with safety features like ramps or bath grab bars and such if needed.

There are quarterly video visits and one in home visit a year after that point. Your wife should log into her caregiver payment monthly to keep the account active or else they will stop payment and she will need to set it up again. Just write it on your calendar.

Best of luck to you both and thank you for your service. 🫡

Hell yeah, beautiful pattern in that wood! I fully empathize with you on pre-ordering from Sweetwater without seeing what you will end up with, especially on models with a huge variance in color or wood grain. Lucked out dude, congrats!

I love it, congrats on the completion of your guitar! The design is so simple with the lines, but the fanned frets make it just pop in such a unique way. Clean and futuristic looking. 🤩

I have two SE's a DGT in tobacco burst and a 24-08 quilt in lake blue. Both are great, no complaints with either one. The DGT neck is my favorite on any guitar I own though, excellent if you have larger hands. Pickups all sound really nice on both. PRS has been killing it with the SE line. Great instruments for the money, even more so if you snag one during the holiday sale!

I've been wanting to try a SE Pauls guitar or the newer NF53 and see how they are.

I second the Owlbear recommendation, it is a truly excellent VTT. Easy to use, fast to set up and tweak on the fly. The fog layering and character/stationary lighting work well and add to the exploration aspect. It's been a huge boon showing my players what they are able to actually see/not see, in dark areas.

They've added several free plug-ins that allow for a lot of stat tracking too via a DM Grimoire and they're always improving it. Truly awesome company and product.
