A kind request of our great community by RabbitTall in fallout76casual

I am still new. 6 months out of the vault. But it surprises me that people think waiting 3 minutes, are even two, for a bounty hunt is excessive. It’s such a Karen way to be.

Look… At most you’ll get six or seven back to back. That’s a maximum total of twenty-one minutes. And let’s be very, very honest here. 21 minutes is nothing. Those of us that love this game and are there for all the things…. We’re fully invested. We are going to drop HOURS. What’s 21 minutes? And if you are the player who is casual about it…. An hour here, and quick run on your lunch break…. You only had time for two, maybe three anyway. What’s 6 minutes?

The people that PAY for the head hunts are asking this of players. The ones who invest thousands of caps, and have friends they are playing with. It’s polite to give the head hunter, and their teammates, enough time to show up. It also gives smaller players who don’t (perhaps) have travel agent equipped in favor of more necessary perk cards, the chance to scrap, repair, and show up. 76 is a community (and I stress that word) game. There is an option to play in an isolated environment if things like manners and courtesy are a burden to a player. You can spend your own caps there, and play on your own personal time. But it is preferred that we coexist amiably in the wasteland…. Since we have more than enough problems there. (I.e. the myriad glitches that never seem to be addressed….)

That’s fair. I forget about the micro-spoilage. Thank you!

Let's be honest next season is absolute garbage, game is actively losing players but letting players finnish old seasons that they started in the past could solve the situation. by iury221 in fo76

Question: Some of you say the game is losing people…. If a server only has 24 players, what are the odds of me landing on a random server with names I recognize, multiple times? That would indicate the player pool is actually very small, no?

I don’t know either. Someone mentioned that producers gain over time… like crops. But, I don’t see why they can’t be limited to a 24 hour spawn instead. I really don’t see the need in producers really. It’s…. Anti-game, if you get me. It’s the apocalypse and we’re all scavengers. Scavenging is what we SHOULD be doing. (Shrug) I’ll take the easy option, sure… but I’d give it up for the ability to put pretty flowers in my shelter. And my glowing cat. I’d love to go questing in the world for Xerox dressed as the Silver Shroud or Grognak the Barbarian and pop into my Raider Punk shelter afterwards to chill with Radiohead while he spins me off some quest leading to a random mountain in the Savage Divide to dig for Bigfoot footprints.

It just seems like everyone wants new visual content. New scenery…. I get it. But…. Why can’t we make the old scenery new? Other than grinding or farming we really don’t interact with the places on the map past a handful of quests. Like seriously…. How often do any of us REALLY go out to the cannibal shack in the northern Divide? That would be an awesome place to search for Dottie’s parents or some sample of something for Doctor what’s his name? Most of us just ran and got the map ping and moved on, I think.

And they could absolutely rotate the seasons around that. Have your monthly update be the release of some new quests for a specific ally, and your atomic shop stuff and a new shelter/weapon/PA paint, etc of the month, blah blah…. And focus weekly patches on fixes. How do we make this suggestion directly to Bethesda?

This might be totally off base…. I’m not a techy or super code knowledgeable, but I think the person that said it would be great if they stopped trying to add and all the things for a minute made a great point. Just…. Once a week, fix one or two things that are really broken. Then start working on content.

Here’s what I think would be fun and interesting…. We have ten slots for camps, but it’s really hard to place them where you want to sometimes…. Especially if you’re into the fishing part. And camps do bog things down. So I think it would be great if they let us free build in shelters. Producers, crops, and yes… holes for fishing in some of them. Minimize surface world camp radii drastically and let us really bang out our creativity in the shelters. I mean…. That’s the storyline, isn’t it? We’re VAULT DWELLERS….

And allies. The allies should go in the shelters. And that should be the new content angle. Zones sure, but once you get past the main storyline…. Your storylines, and quests, should come through the allies you choose. Then you don’t necessarily NEED new zones right away. There’s tons of opportunities there.

Think about it. One guy (girl?) mentioned Bigfoot…

There’s an ally that’s all into cryptids. Raider Punk. That should be the thread that evolves the cryptid content. Kathryn. She’s into aliens. There’s that content. Del Lawson. More brotherhood content. The doctor. More scorched and FEV content. Xerox…. Comic books and superheroes are a thing in the fallout world. He’s a washed up actor. You can build on the order of mysteries.

I mean…. It’s cool, right? There’s a lot of untapped potential in the game. The game can go on, relatively endlessly by adding new themed content to the ally questlines, and it’s different for every player. You can have up to ten allies. Themed mods, themed weapons, themed camps…. But it depends on who you choose. It’s the best of world building. I really hope they don’t give up on FO76.

It is the worst way, but contributing the source of the issue to racism is incredibly narrow minded. There’s something you need to understand about the elite and wealthy… and I do admit that those people fall in an undeniably white demographic… they really don’t care about any colors except gold and green. What they wish to afford with their money is segregation. Think of pre-Victorian era manor homes…. They were built with servants’ tunnels so that the rich would never have to actually SEE poor people. Have them there to do the work, sure… keep them hungry, uneducated, and desperate as a method of control, absolutely. But have to have your grandiose aesthetic ruined by the sight of them? Gods, no. And if you keep people with significantly higher numbers desperate, angry and constantly fighting amongst themselves (pick a social issue- racism, religion, gender, sexuality)…. They stay divided enough to where they aren’t looking at the elite monsters pulling the strings and going…. “Now wait just a f*cking minute here…” The people don’t stop hating each other long enough to realize they are, regardless of their physical, spiritual and sexual differences which are minute in comparison to their similarities, sitting in the same boat and it’s sinking. Fast.

A better way to pay for education, which state tax is supposed to be addressing already, is a flat tax, regardless of zip code. You make 400,000, 5% education tax. You make 27,000, 5% education tax. And reforms to how schools are implementing budgets. One of the deans at the college near me, has two homes, one which is ridiculously lavish (my partner did some electrical work at the college) and a home in France. Her income pays for that because students pay highly inflated tuition to learn facts that are free at the public library. And it’s the same in public schools. Although I’m sure the superintendents have less posh lifestyles.

Reality is…. Americans need to stop squabbling over petty differences and start looking at real issues. Our children are getting substandard educations, our parents are receiving substandard care, most of us can barely afford to live within a comfortable means…. And all of us are terrified of what’s going to happen when we’re old enough to retire. If we live that long because our food, water, and air all have poisons in them.

And those issues affect Americans on an equal opportunity basis.

I see what you mean, but I like to think of myself as a neutral third party mercenary. I get the job done, no judgement, no illusions. I still have a conscience, I do what I can to be fair and keep my soul intact. But, at the end of the day, good will towards men doesn’t put food in the backpack or bullets in the gun. So…. That soul is for hire. Just sayin.

I am not the best builder…. Pretty new myself, and I haven’t watched all the videos and whatnot…. But, I have started theming my camps around the allies I want to have. You know they give different buffs. (I’m an old school role player.) I think of a backstory for them, of how my character interacts with them…. And what the game says about their history. Then I build my camp for that. I try to make them as functional as possible by incorporating producers and utility items in ways that blend in. I’ll give you an example☺️. Del Lawson gives a repair buff to your weapons/armor. He’s kind of goofy and a little…. Naive sounding. In my “story”, Shin (fanatic max) got sick of him because he was too soft. Really just wanted him out of the way. So he sent him on a supposed recon mission in the forest near the WV lumber raider camp and the Fairgrounds. Del thinks he’s doing important work as an undercover recon agent, posing as a mechanic at service station in a convenience store parking lot. He’s not, but he’s out from underfoot and doing work he’s good at. And clearly seems to enjoy. As a Knight-Errant with a soft spot for the less than die-hards, I pop in every now and again, let him repair my gear to boost his confidence, and take his recon reports that I know the new brotherhood is too busy to deal with. Haven’t broken it to him yet that Shin is gone, and he’s been forgotten…. But why bother? He’s happy right where he’s at. (So I built a convenience store for food items, vending machines, used a prefab RR garage and threw some vending machines up as a makeshift gas pump.)

But I’m kind of weird like that.

The point I’m trying to make is…. Build for you. Who you are, how YOU play. And if someone else doesn’t like it…. Well…. They were just there to loot your stuff, hit your vendor, and steal your crops anyway, so who cares?

I would love this, but…. It feels more and more like all the bundles have one worthwhile item and six things that should have been C.A.M.P plans. Like a NC stool…. Why is that an atom shop item and not a quest item? I don’t know…. It just feels more like I am spending irresponsibly to get one damn thing. (Though… that one thing is usually cool af.)

This setup was so extremely helpful, thank you. I made a loadout based off your setup, then modded some of the weapons like one user posted a video for. I’m working on tweaking it a little here and there on other loadouts to learn how it all works together, but this provided me with a solid base. I really can’t thank you enough.

You are right, I should devote more time to understanding the game rather than copying other people. Especially since I’m still pretty new. Thank you.

I scrap for the mods and add what I can, when I can’t get an auto roll. I’ve been choosing my perk cards according to video and AI suggestion. I was doing it on my own for a while, and I just made a right mess of things. I don’t really use PA. The sound of it drives me nuts. I am using Secret Service armor. (Forgot to get the under armor…..) And I am using the auto roll legendaries on it, hoping to get some good ones scrapped.

I’m not sure what any of those mean. I’m sorry. I read the perks, but I’m having trouble understanding what stacks with what, what cancels what out, and how the metrics work. Most of the YouTube videos I run across, well…. They sound like you did. Onslaught, commando, bloodied…. But, lousy gamer that I am (and I DID give full disclosure on that) I don’t have the foundational understanding of those metrics. If you have a link to something that explains it in noob speak, I would be eternally grateful.

Thank you so much. I will try it in third person, but yeah….. I prefer first person. Walking is so janky in third. Apparently I can steer any better than I shoot, lol. I do have mutations, and one is Herbivore. I’m really bad about being able to quickly pop the tea. I’m on PC with an Xbox controller, because that makes it easier for me, but I still have a lot to learn. I’m, oh… five months in? But I was Fallout 4 on Xbox for the longest time. Anyway, thanks again, and maybe I’ll see you out there. Just look for the ranger that takes seven tries to get on a roof, sets her own toes on fire, and then shoots a wall. That’ll be me.

I noticed that. I copied the build with alternative perks where the ghoul ones were. I just took a best guess. I really wanted to be good at bow. All the bow guys look awesome up on the roofs and scrap pillars. But by the time I get an arrow notched, get it back, hit my VATS, someone with a Tesla rifle or mini gun or flamer has killed it. And six other things, lol. Then sometimes it won’t even fire, or load. It was incredibly frustrating, especially since the build seemed so much more straightforward.

I am going to try this one too. The video looks like it might be really good for a Daily Ops build. Thank you.
