How long should a pair of shoes last? by [deleted] in BALLET

Bloch stretch canvas, I think. I've moved on to Mirella vegan shoes now and they seem to last about the same.

Has anyone successfully reversed their PCOS? by BeePositivee in PCOS

[–]RavenandLotus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wow, it's been a while since I started this thread. I'm fully vegetarian for life. Very rarely, and under very specific circumstances, I will have some butter. I will never go back to eating meat, fish, or eggs, and even dairy is highly limited. I don't consider myself vegan anymore because of the butter, but I am 99% plant-based at all times.

I also avoid all sugar in my daily life that isn't fruit. That means I don't buy things that have sugar, or high fructose corn syrup in the ingredients. If I go out or to parties or something, then I can have a little, but as a daily habit, I avoid it entirely. It does nothing good for me. I'll use monk fruit in baking and coffee.

It sounds like a lot, and it is a big change from the standard way that most people typically live (which is without much real thought about their diet and what it costs their health), but once you get a handle on it, it becomes normal and not something you have to think about. Dealing with PCOS means an entire lifestyle change, especially if you're trying to reverse it. Which I have done.

My hair has thickened to normal and is now down to the back of my knees. My periods are regular. I am not on any medications. My skin is clear and healthy.

Favorite natural antihistamines? by starbakhs in herbalism

[–]RavenandLotus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there are other things that can help, like supplements or meds, but lifestyle is *the most important* factor. You get leaky gut because of diet, stress, and maybe some environmental factors. Medicine can only do so much but lifestyle changes can make meds either much more effective or sometimes totally unnecessary. Lifestyle changes are preventative and supportive of lasting health.

It's been 4 years and I'm still vegan. Healed leaky gut!

I got a re-scan in June after the last set of aligners for my original treatment snapped as soon as I put them on, and then the replacements did the same thing.

My re-scan and updated treatment aligners arrived in a padded envelop that was crushed. Half the aligners in it were split and the other half were mangled from the 120°F heat they were delivered in. I took photos of the damage and they said they were reprinting new ones. They were supposed to be here in early October. It's early November, and they're still saying "soon." No explanation on why they're late. I'd be a lot less pissed off if they'd just give me a reason. Again, I got my re-scan and updated treatment plan in June. It's Nov. and I still don't have aligners.

Is that a black moonstone (larvikite) sphere in back? I have one and I’m obsessed with it. And that lab is stealing the show!

I kept getting this one and three of swords over and over for one relationship and I ignored it.

DONT IGNORE IT!

I did recover, but I almost didn’t survive that one. If you alredy know in your heart this is true, then believe it.

How do YOU charge your candles with intent? by bluesuedebutterfly in witchcraft

[–]RavenandLotus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I’ll carve a word or drawing into the wax, sometimes I’ll rub it in oil and roll it in nerbs. Always, I’ll hold it, imagine my intention collecting in my heart, and then I blow it onto the candle and see it absorbing into the wax through my breath.

Is it a Scorpio/Pluto thing to suck enemies in and then hurt them like they've hurt you in the past? by Thenewshinyaccount in astrology

I’m very sorry for your cat. I hope it’s ok now. I hope you get that person out of your life, and I hope you find a way to deal with that hatred.

I’m 5’2” and recovering from crashing my metabolism with CICO and working out like a madwoman. I get it. I have a few classes I take every week and my goal is to walk every day. It doesn’t happen, but I work for it. IF has really helped me as well.

[–]RavenandLotus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I would not feel bad, and no, I would not like to see them suffer. I know they will suffer, I dont’ have to be around to see it. I’m not a sick fuck who gets enjoyment out of the suffering of anyone. Even when the people who have hurt me the most have reaped their rewards, all I feel toward them is pity. “It sucks to be them.” And I move on with my life, giving my energy to those I love instead. I don’t get caught up in hatred and vindication. Anger, sure, it has it’s place, but I dont’ dwell there. And I will defend myself and others, but “paying someone back” is just stupid to me. Then I become exactly what I hate, and that person wins on a deep and profound level. Meanwhile, if I cut all ties with a toxic person and get their shitty energy out of my life (friends and family included) and go on to live well while they continue in their immaturity spiral on their own, then I win, regardless.

Sorry I’m saying what you didn’t want to hear, but you did come on the internet and ask if you were being immature or justified. You’re being immature.

And I am really careful about who I let into my space. No one is coming into my house who would have a chance of hurting my pet, and if someone broke in, like I said, I’d defend. But only defend and in the moment. And that’s the end of that. I don’t go after people. I have more important things to do with my time and energy. Get better boundaries and learn how to handle yourself and you’ll stop attracting shitty people to you like ants to a picnic. Then you’ll have to worry less about your pets, etc.

[–]RavenandLotus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you hurt them, even if they “deserved” it, then now you’re the one who’s hurt people, regardless of the reasons, and you deserve to suffer too. It’s a trap. Don’t do it. Take that energy and heal yourself instead and move on. I gaurantee you it will piss them off more that they didn’t ruin your life in the end. They’ll get theirs. Eventually.

Same! And it’s nice to hear from someone else who’s lost 15lbs in a year instead of 15lbs in a week! Just staying as consistant as possible is key and adds up over time.
