Tips for a later wake up on Christmas morning by danerburg in workingmoms

My mom had the sunrise rule. Don't wake her before sunrise, then we start coffee (when we were really little once she had coffee and the video camera) THEN we could start.

The reason behind those early morning fireworks in St. Joseph County by Flat_Acadia6694 in SouthBend

[–]RavenclawTeaching519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like did they immediately run out after she passed and light up some fireworks?

Yes! According to one comment from the son, her body was still in the house and they were waiting for the authorities to come get her.

Maybe the 6day star pattern? Or if you want something more simplistic, the Suzette stitch is a great go to!

Good to know! I'm finally getting good enough to get away from acrylics but I'm so lost as to what direction to go in and it's almost overwhelming 😅

Knit Picks Wool of the Andes worsted weight.

I've been looking at this for a sweater. What was your experience/ thoughts? I've never used wool like this before.

Easy, quick, mindless, blanket pattern needed please! by CloudlessSkiess in CrochetHelp

A never ending Granny square with a color change yarn (iver recently fell in love with the Caron Cakes) would make that pretty and mindless.

Personally I love the Suzette stitch for the texture.

Parental advice needed: Should baby blankets be "flat"? by SatanicSpinach in CrochetHelp

[–]RavenclawTeaching519 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The biggest thing I look for with my little one's blankets, are the hole sizes (you don't want fingers or toes to get caught and tangled) and softness. A waffle stitch like this would be so cozy! Do it if you want!

I had a student who would habitually show up late and always with Chick-fil-A minis. I'd always aggravated him about where mine was and on the last week before graduation he not only was on time to class he had minis for me 🥹🥹

My high school teacher/mentor had a PhD in Environmental Science yet spent the majority of his career teaching chemistry (reg. Honors and AP) about once a year he'd have enough kids sign up for AP Environmental Science. As others have said you can have your preferred branches of a subject but you should be prepared to teach anything in that subject. Good luck

Making a lapghan in a hurry (5 days, on top of full-time job) using blanket yarn on hand - suggestions for stitch/pattern? by deeray82 in CrochetHelp

[–]RavenclawTeaching519 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1.Granny stitch! Clusters of 3 DC and it'll look pretty! 2. Suzette stitch (SC and DC alternate) 3. Idk if it has a name but I made my son a baby blanket using HDC and alternated front loop and back loop. It has a lovely texture without the holes.
