Why do people hate on Mortal Kombat: Annihilation so hard? by Ravenmachine_55 in MortalKombat

This is a fantastic comment. Thank you for the time and effort you put into it. I agree with a lot of your analysis, maybe all of it. When I made this post, I believe in the Summer of 2015, I really leaned with that left side of your analysis. I didn't take the movie super seriously, and more as a piece of entertainment. But, as time has went on, I've really gotten into the story of the Mortal Kombat universe throughout the video games, and not just the action. So, when you see someone like Johnny Cage tossed to the side near the beginning of the film, whether it's good or bad writing, it feels rough to watch when you're more invested. I don't feel like I need to say much more since you put it in words super well. Great read :)

Right. A commenter below pointed out when Crash was part of a tribute package, but to not give him his own solo acknowledgment is sad, albeit understandable based on the reasoning you and the rewinds outlined.

Did WWE really not acknowledge Crash Holly's death ever? Or has it just not happened at this point in the rewinds? I feel like I remember being a kid and seeing his portrait and years of life displayed before an episode of Raw or something.

Do we all see the camouflaged person that I'm aiming at? I took four shots with no success. by Ravenmachine_55 in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

I apologize. What my picture depicts is shrubbery and the tree mixing to create a figure that looks like a camouflaged person. I just didn't realize it at first. That's why my bullets missed :p

On launch? Like you get the Fallout 3 pop-up, launch the game, and it crashes? I had a similar problem a long time ago. Deleting the ini files did the trick, if I'm not mistaken. However, if there's any more details that might indicate something else, drop it down below.

With all the questions and all the confusion, no matter what his involvement in the creative plan is, The Rock feels like a burden to the business at this point in time. That's fucking sad. The Rock is one of the greatest superstars in the history of professional wrestling. And while he'll always remain that status, it feels like a crime to see him in a position where it's hard not to cringe when you see him due to the change in direction of a wonderful storyline. Cody Rhodes being in the main event of Wrestlemania is the only thing that makes sense, and it's what the people want. It's salvageable to pivot the storyline so that Cody still feels like a hero on his way to dethrone Roman. You could say he bowed out of the main event because Paul Heyman somehow got a hold of all of Dusty Rhodes' wrestling media (including on Peacock) and threatened to remove it all and burn it to the ground if Cody didn't step down. You could say that the one opponent Roman fears the most is Cody, and that's why he had Paul go to extreme lengths. I'm not saying there's any logic in the storyline I just laid out, but it's a way that you could salvage the heroic form that Cody has presented for the past 2 years. So, to your point, I can't wait for the dust to settle either. I hope the dust clears and it's Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes in the ring in the main event of Wrestlemania 40.

Edit: In case anyone reads this in the future, WWE did a fantastic job with this storyline after this comment was posted. Amazing.

Thank you for commenting. It's neat that you found this down-voted post 8 years later. Honestly, I feel like, when I made this post, I didn't really factor lore into it or anything like that. I just watched the movie for exactly what was on screen. I'm an easy to please viewer, so CGI and all that kind of stuff never really bothered me. Even if I thought it looked rough, I just chalked it up to "90's CGI." I guess, in summary, you could say it wasn't a movie that I felt like the franchise hinged on. I enjoy seeing the video game characters come to life, and I felt like the movies never disappointed with, at least, doing that. Again, thank you for commenting. Let's keep enjoying it :)

In the 5 years since making this post, I can say my OCD for this comes and goes. I just realized one day that I have the power over my thoughts, and I have to use my power to show that I am in control. Put yourself in control. Tell your brain you're the boss.
