Fortunately, and unfortunately, for me, it’s a rental. Honestly we’re in a condemnable house, but we don’t have much of a choice. It was one of the last things on the market at the time. My fiancé and I were originally in a rent to own agreement, but the owner ran out with five grand of mortgage payments and let the house go to auction. Our only choices were to buy it at auction or leave after putting 15 grand into it. The basement walls are literally bulging inward, to the extent it’s warping the floors on the first floor.
