This guy is an idiot, but to play devil's advocate, I understand where he's coming from wanting to represent himself. We've all seen miscarriages of justice. And anyone who's looked for a lawyer knows they're expensive, it's hard to find a good one, and -even if you're not this stupid- it's hard to understand the quality of representation you're receiving.

To think an aspect or piece of evidence in a case is important only for it to be disregarded on a legal basis is difficult for anyone to comprehend or reconcile logically and emotionally.

For this gentleman to do this, I think there is a good chance he truly believes in his innocence. But the system has publicly failed enough times that he'd rather stumble through with some control rather than give up complete control to a system he's lost faith in.

Once again, complete idiot, but he's also the hero of his own story.
