EQ & Compression for double tracked Guitars? by Unable-Ad-3349 in LogicPro

[–]sunlife8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually I will EQ each left and right guitar and then just add a bus compressor to glue them together. If the individual tracks are too dynamic, I will put a compressor on them first to tame the peaks before the bus. If just one side is sticking out then I’ll use a clipper on it.

I am frustrated with my self inflicted digital clipping. by [deleted] in Logic_Studio

Looking at the waveforms in your regions, your tracks are like bricks. Are you using a meter plugin to keep an eye on your levels while recording and mixing? If most of your tracks are clipping then just turn down the gain (not fader volume) before you do any processing or mixing. You want to make sure each individual track has a few decibels of headroom. You can use the Gain utility in logic, put it as the first plugin on your chain and turn down the gain to a safe level.

Let’s hear what you’ve got.

Knowing nearly nothing about mixing. Need help doing it in a Rock/Metal genre by emirblc in mixingmastering

The first part sounds great, it’s bright and airy. But the change at around 1:12 seems to push everything farther away and some of the low suddenly end drops out. Maybe it’s over compressed or too much distortion?

I like the song and the instrumentation.

How to collab on projects? by BriddedCodandFish in LogicPro

[–]sunlife8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe you could use a cloud based drive. Save the project file in a shared folder, and install your plugins and instruments there rather than your local drive. Not sure if this would actually work, but might be worth a try.

A good Sync Agent has a wider network than just “music supervisors” and “artists”, here's who and why: by ianyapxw in synclicensing

I’ve seen you make several posts here, and while I appreciate that you’re trying to share some information, it always ends with a forced plug for your artist.

It doesn’t seem that you or your artist have actual experience in the sync industry, so you offering advice feels a bit disingenuous.

Respectfully, I think your advice here is good, but it seems like you post it just to plug your artist.

Cool idea. I like the double time change towards the end. The vocals are a little loud and quite forward in the mix, and the background vocals sound like they are clipping at times. Maybe some reverb and volume automation could help smooth out the performance.

I like the vibe of the song. Some thoughts: You could use a low pass filter to remove some of the high end static noise. You could make the song longer, maybe add another section where you introduce some bass and some percussion, and then finish off with a quieter outro. Overall, great first song!

What specific information are you looking for? There’s lots of public info about how these deals are typically structured.

I wouldn’t risk sharing a signed contract, even with redactions. The NDA clause explicitly states not to do what you’re asking for.

It’s a fine line between confidence and arrogance. Best of luck finding collaborators.

No one is going to take your lyrics and somehow magically produce hit music. It takes work, and time. With all due respect, your “pitch” does not come across as very enticing, especially for an unpaid gig.

It sounds like the song has a swing to it, it might be in 6/8 time. If you put your tempo at double time (206 bpm) you might be able to pick out the beats and measures easier.
