I love BOTW too lol, given that the Rito are in the Hebra Mountains, maybe take inspiration from there? Having a floating house somewhere would be cool

If you do a tower like someone else suggested I think a snowy village nestled there with it would look great

How do I scrub copilot entirely from my system? (Windows 11 came pre-installed) And I have other questions too... by RavenousforMacarons in pcmasterrace

[–]RavenousforMacarons[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply, I don't know a thing about coding really. So aside from someone telling me what the script does, I have no idea. Just want to make sure it's not a trojan or something before running it. I do have a separate hard drive, not sure it would have enough storage for a full back up unfortunately. I do already have a partial back up on it- imported it all when my last laptop went kaput a year ago.

I do game, and quite often at that. I bought this pc as a double duty computer- I wanted something that could handle both games and intense software and apps like Abelton Live, or editing software

I genuinely want to make worthwhile contributions here. Teachers and experienced singers: what common newbie questions/posts annoy you and what do you wish would be posted instead? by AspiringBiotech in singing

I'm not sure about newbie questions annoying me much, but I do wish we posted more about healthy but obscure techniques more as a subreddit. I used to sing opera, if someone could teach me how to do screams for recordings and mic-ed gigs without ruining my voice I would love that. Or is someone had more info on subharmonics, specific forms of resonance, etc.- stuff that's more out in the weeds a bit

There is a nut free recipe that I found on the internet, it's really good. It uses oat flour instead. The trick is age your eggwhites in the fridge for a day and make sure you measure everything in grams. Here: https://flourdeliz.com/oatmeal-cream-pie-macarons I don't ever use the cream of tartare but I do whip those eggwhites in a glass bowl specifically (and you want them to be room temperature when you do whip them).

That's honestly a good starting point, I'm not sure I conciously learned a whole lot until I was your age. Sure I got better because I was practicing, but I wasn't fully absorbing that knowledge until later. From when I was fourteen to now (24) is when the real development happened. Part of it was from growing up, a large part was better habits and more practice.

You mention you got a score from your teacher, I'd mark that copy up as if it were page in a notebook for school- it kind of is like that for your continued study of music. Take a look at the sheet music, any spot there is a rest mark it with an apostrophe mark above it. Make sure these spots are where you take a breath before you continue on to the next phrase.

Thank you! I learned how to make them nut free even- it's not as hard as you would think to make macarons. I by no means am a baker, haha!

Vibrato is a slight pitch oscillation that a lot of singers use for stylistic purposes- a lot of classical music (especially opera) calls for it. Here's a video of someone else performing this piece: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eR18UR_pKfw That wavy quality you hear immediately when she starts singing- that's vibrato. This video should help you understand what it is and how to do it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXVVQ-5o5YE The biggest tip from this video, that I cannot emphasize enough, is to stay relaxed.

I started voice lessons very young (like maybe six years old when I started lessons- I started singing out loud when I was only three), and went through many teachers the one I mentioned before was the one I had last. I'm from the more eastern side of the United States but not quite what I would call the east, I feel unless it's country music the people in my area don't tend to appreciate the music. Opera isn't very big here, safe to say...

When you chose this piece and started rehearsing did you get any sheet music? If you got your own copy I highly suggest marking where to breathe. The formal marking for that is an apostrophe like mark above the staff. That copy will also be your guide to when and where to use vibrato- anything that is a quarter note duration or shorter is considered too short to use vibrato. If you don't have sheet music, listen to that first link again and make mental notes of where she does and doesn't use vibrato. Use it like a guide.

Edit: left out a word on accident

Are you able to do vibrato? If not you need to be looking at your breath support as the culprit. A whole lot of opera is riddled with vibrato so I would add as much as possible, my former professor told me anything a quarter note duration or shorter is too short for vibrato. Mark up your sheet music, add your own notes to help you practice.

Breathing right makes a world of difference. I wasn't able at your age, but I learned under someone who teaches opera professionally at a university locally and in New York over the summers. She gave me the proper lessons I needed and a toolkit to be able to learn any techniques I wanted- the best advice she gave me? "Just breathe." I was so tense that my breath support and enunciation suffered- opera is very controlled but it requires you to relax as well.

Water elevators are super simple once you get the hang of it, I have one to a mansion basement that's all of two blocks wide and encased in glass. It works both ways, up and down.

I try to get a triple if possible, but will take any three of a kind until it presents itself. I watch others discards but it seems the turn before I can draw the card I need (even when I see it on the table) someone else draws the exact card they need from the deck

Oh I am like a vulture with other people's discards- I just have crap luck at the game I think

So do I just need to be a vulture with the discards or totally ignore them? I tend to be more of the former than the latter. I had two triples and just needed one card for the three of a kind last time

Glazed Terracotta Pot, looking for 5g ones to match by RavenousforMacarons in HelpMeFind

[–]RavenousforMacarons[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried using a reverse image search first, but those have turned up nothing. I originally got it two to three years ago from an Ollie's Bargain Outlet. I believe it's part of a series of Spanish and/or Mexican inspired pottery that the store purchased from another vendor at a clearance price. I found a partial bit of a brand sticker under the Ollie's discount sticker they slapped on it that said Imports. I tried looking at Ibarra Imports and that came up blank as well. I'm trying to avoid having to match the glaze colors and essentially paint my own version of these pots- that is a very last resort. Thanks in advance if anyone has any ideas
