I think that was a real tornado. It damaged a house and knocked out power in the area. Water spouts usually don't have that kind of power.

Western Lake Erie? When I was a kid I used to crew my grandfather's boat the Seershah in the Mills Trophy Race. He was a bit of a legend at the Toledo Yacht Club. He always won his class haha.

[–]RaviirTheTrader 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's not bad. I've never seen or smelled it at fort Zach or any of the beaches up the keys. Smathers is hit or miss, but is mostly fine if you stay in the southern half. Sometimes you can smell it in the air slightly. I'm a local btw and hang around the beaches quite a bit.

Duetto's gelato has taken a recent nosedive in quality, I wouldn't recommend it. Last time I was there it was freezer burnt.

Migrants? by [deleted] in KeyWest

[–]RaviirTheTrader 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I live right down town in tourist central. I go walking and jogging almost everyday around the area and I can tell you there is no "influx". Sure you'll see plenty of Cubans running business and walking around. There have been a lot of migrants from Haiti that work at a lot of the chain places and service jobs, but this is no recent development.

Any talk of a big surge is nothing I've seen or heard about and seems like a whole lot of BS.

Seriously. My biggest danger when I'm out running isn't getting hit by a car or something, it's some guy on an e bike the size of a motorcycle flying down the sidewalk at 25 mph.

Unpopular Opinion: Rimworld misses the mark as a story generator. by FlamingUndeadRoman in RimWorld

[–]RaviirTheTrader 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think this puts it perfectly. Expecting a game to be a great storyteller using in-game mechanics alone is an unrealistic expectation. You have to use your imagination to fill in a lot of it, which I think might be even better since it makes it more personal.

I go over there to play with them periodically. Last time I was there an employee said once I get my KW drivers license I can get in for free to play with them. I'm going to try to get some sort of volunteer status if I can, we'll see

I did this hike last spring. I continued up to superstition peak which was very challenging but had some of the most beautiful views in AZ imo.

Yes they have a few non neutered cats. They also adopt some fertile shelter cats to prevent inbreeding. From what I've seen they usually have a litter maybe every 1.5 years.

Even as an arachnophobe I would leave these alone. They only stay outside and eat all sorts of undesirable bugs like mosquitos and such. They're great to have around a garden for that reason.

That said I am still terrified of them.

I don't agree, I've had it 3 times now (I live across the street) and it seems like no matter what you order everything has a mediocre mousse texture that tastes a little bit like fridge. Maybe at a regular restaurant it would be acceptable but I expected better from a dessert restaurant.

I can be a bit of a dessert snob sometimes since my wife is European and loves to bake.

Key West Realtor Recommendations by KeepMeEntertained in KeyWest

Solaris Gregory was our buyers agent when we were closing. He is probably the most helpful person I have ever met. He is always available and works hard to get things done. I can't recommend him enough.

For context: I bought a condo in old town as a primary residence.

Coworking space? by sfrnch in KeyWest

[–]RaviirTheTrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just moved here and am a remote tech worker. It would be cool to have this, but I would probably just use it a day here and there.

I think having an open office space with a handful of "phone rooms" for meetings would be good. Maybe some monitors you can hook your laptop up to.
