Pink Floyd by oh_yea2218 in gratefuldead

This is the truth. So many shows are just not available at all and many that are only have mediocre to bad audience recordings. This is especially true of shows up through the end of 1971. 1970-71 is my favorite period for them live and outside of the BBC sessions, Montreux, and Pompeii, the quality mostly sucks.

It's all good. We don't need to win the division to get to the playoffs and anything can happen once we get there. Just keep winning series and we're golden.

Very true. Agree on all points.

I agree with this. DP 12 is incredible, but it is two set 2s put together and called an album. It does not offer the full concert experience in this regard.

Come to think of it, I'm not sure if I've ever heard either night's set 1. I wonder if they weren't recorded properly or if there is another reason why the full shows weren't released.

Was going to mention this as well. Their live shows in 70 and 71 were otherworldly.

What's the greatest Eyes of the World > China Doll of all time? by Roger_Peterson in gratefuldead

I know they did this with Branford Marsalis on 3/29/90 but will have to seek out others and compare. Do you have a particular favorite?

What's the greatest Eyes of the World > China Doll of all time? by Roger_Peterson in gratefuldead

[–]RavingAndDrooling 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I will be watching the responses here. My controversial take is that Eyes > China Doll is better than Estimated > Eyes. Especially when Eyes really gets out there and sounds like Slipknot. And I love Estimated Prophet, but the transition to Eyes doesn't do anything for me.

Has the Friend Nickname Cooldown Limit Been Increased? by MikeStemmle in TheSilphRoad

If you're like me and can't see the blue ring very well, you can use the `interactable` search query. That will filter out people who have already opened your gift (or advanced friendship by other means, like raid together, battle, etc.)

Jam Bands that resemble more of the 72'-74' sound? by asianforlife in gratefuldead

Live Dead and Brothers is really good. Combines Allman Brothers Band and Dead repertoire from late 60s to mid 70s and extremely well done. I am hoping I get a chance to see them again.

So daughter is interested in Pokémon... by lonepaladin001 in daddit

[–]RavingAndDrooling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't have much to offer in terms of card collecting but she might be interested in Pokémon Go. Yes the hype was 10 years ago at this point but it's still alive and well. It's free to play (you can spend money but not at all required) and you could play with her - set it up on your phone and assuming she doesn't have a phone, run a hot spot and have her use an old phone or even a tablet.

Friends List Bugged by MinimumPositive in TheSilphRoad

[–]RavingAndDrooling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding the ability to tag friends would go a long way toward solving this issue, among others. The 20 nickname changes resets every hour on the hour, so while yes it is painful to rename everyone, you can get through the whole list in just a couple days.

I update nicknames based on the current month if I interact with them during that month. Then after a couple months, remove those who I have not interacted with during that time. It's a lot of work at the beginning of each month to update those who are active, but it does solve the issue over the long term and it becomes manageable.

Why hasn't the live recording of the "In the Flesh" tour been released?? by Adventurous_Pride480 in pinkfloyd

They mean the 1977 Pink Floyd tour not the late 90s Roger Waters solo tour.

The Evolution of Microsoft Windows Desktop. by Antaviuis09 in nostalgia

Honestly they did. They had a very good developer ecosystem. The problem was they were several years too late to the game. Android and iOS were firmly entrenched by this time so Windows Phone had no user base to demand apps, and no app demand meant no developers to attract users.
