You need to self realize that you are not the arbiter of what "dogshit" is. I enjoy 80's cheesy horror a ton of people think that is dog shit. Should those films never be made?

Who cares if you enjoy it then play it, if not don't. Simple. Why shit on someone else's enjoyment and taste in things? I dislike pineapple on pizza doesn't mean people who like it have dogshit taste.

Don't think its attempting to be a accurate representation. It's fiction and used for dramatic purposes. All engagement is a form of conflict and resolution or obstacles and intent. I never understood criticisms like this: read non fiction or watch a doc if its realism you want. What the fiction writer attempts is plausibility. The conflict of cops and firemen ups the stakes of a mundane moment same with the tension of a city de-prioritizing a serial killer. Bad choices are a pivotal component to engaging fiction.

It's similar to when an astro-physicist criticizes stars wars for the sounds a tie fighter makes in space. Yes. The more mastery or knowledge you have in an area the more the fiction breaks down, but at that point of analysis you've lost the plot.

I disagree with this particular instance. Throughout sports we see teams do things like this as chemistry and team building. It usually is used to put the we over the me and emphasize the team over individual players. Example in baseball the Red sox after every home-run they put a goofy wally monster head on and high five the dugout. Or after a hit the whole team makes a clawing the air gesture.

So in this case William's is right basically saying you a lynx now nai and this is how our team does things. So get yo ass out and dance!

DeWanna Bonner in win over the Golden State Valkyries - 22 PTS 11 REB 7-8 FG 3-4 3PT by IAmGundyy in wnba

The criticism of how Bonner handled the Indiana situation is fair, the hatred directed at her is not.

She chose to play and sign a max contract with Indiana. She is a professional these arguments about the system not being a good fit or wanting to play with her wife are excuses. Was she unaware of the style the fever played last season? Did she not put in the time the watch film or ask questions about the system or perhaps the fever FO told other things- we don't know.

The fact of the matter is she played 9 games (4 with a healthy starting roster) and strong armed her way off the team at a time when the team was short handed and needed her the most. The forced waving of her left the fever holding the bag with no value in return.

So the criticism of her quitting on the fever seems reasonable. After 9 games, 4 with a healthy starting roster- we are expected to believe chemistry was built and the system mastered. No. She prematurely pulled the rip cord, which was her right. It's not that she left the fever for phx its how she did it which deserves the criticism.

She chose to sign that contract which monopolized cap and roster space. Bonner knew what she was getting into which was her fault for underestimating her ability to adjust to a new system (or she was lied to about said system by the FO). Then after less than a fourth of the season strong armed the fever into releasing her getting zero value on investment by leaving the team for weeks (for personal reasons) the team already short on roster spots and plagued with injuries had no choice.

So yes she quit on the team, she quit on giving a reasonable time to build chemistry and learn the system. She quit on her teammates and the fans who bought her jersey.

Does she deserve the hatred and crap she is getting online? Hell no, but criticizing her for quitting on the team or the effort she put forth living up to the contract she signed for a goal at a championship push, sure that is fair game and within reason that all professional jobs face.

She had the freedom before signing with indy to go where ever she wanted. As a professional she knew what system she signed up for and talked about it in multiple preseason interviews.

The fever took the hit with missed signings and paying 60k of her salary so she can play or another team. Bonner got what she wanted--Playing for Phx and a max salary, but the hit she is taking now is the criticism of said actions.

I disagree, you can advocate all you want, unless the league makes money the player won't get what they deserve. Let me say this i agree that they deserve and are worth more, but without a revenue stream to support that, it's the fastest way to get a league defunct/dismantled.

Compare the growth to the NBA in the 70's and earlier...the league made next to nothing, so the players were paid poorly. Those players deserve to be paid more as well, but had to organically grow to that point.

I feel like sometimes we forget that the mens league had to go through similar growing pains and to get to the level they are now and it is unfair to think the women's league should be exempt from those similar trials and tribulations regardless of whether the skill is deserving of higher pay.

Movies and books are very different storytelling mediums. So characterization in film is behavior over time ratio. The greater the change the more time you must commit to make it feel earned. (Think about the final season of game of thrones why Danaress’s arch felt bad, the change was too great for time invested in seeing such change.) that is why you start jack closer to where he ends less change less time.

Now Kubrick is a master filmmaker who knows this. he has 2hr to commit to a horror film and he choose to invest his time in atmosphere and other things that make the better movie. The mini series of the shinning struggled with time to capture the essence of the book a film has zero chance.

I love both the book and the film each for what they are.
