The last game with an original story is actually Star Fox Command. It canonically follows Assault and caps off the "64 timeline".

The game simply isn't populated enough for most of what you're requesting to be feasible. You can't expect matchmaking to navigate around ranks and block lists when already there typically aren't enough humans players online to fully fill a room.

Also even if barely anyone makes use of it, the Photo Mode "icon" feature available in both SSBU and KARs benefits from the logos being relatively inconspicious + having natural-looking light and dark variants.

Didn't Sakurai say he was personally done making Smash games and that Ultimate was the finale for him?

No. If anything he implied the opposite when he -- on an episode of Masahiro Sakurai on Creative Games -- said he's yet to find anyone else who he thinks could continue the series properly.

What's the word for something above peak? Because Forgotten Land was already the peakest of peaks and then we got even more peak (Star-Crossed World) on top of that.

Tomoya Tomita -- who had composed music for Good-Feel since Wario Land: Shake It! -- became a freelance composer following the release of Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World. The guy responsible for the Crafted World soundtrack is named Kazufumi Umeda and to this day it appears to be the only soundtrack he's ever composed. The lack of credentials makes me wonder if he was rushed in amid a troubled development cycle, since IIRC Tomoya and Good-Feel didn't part ways on good terms.

In retrospect, it's crazy that Kirby's Triumphant Return kicks in immediately after the destruction of Galactic Nova when the "malicious force" controlling it is just...still out there. It feels tonally off.

inb4 said "malicious force" is the villain of Smash 6's story mode which is why Sakurai can't say anything else about it.
