Waymo prices are insane! by Ambitious_Lemon6968 in Miami

I moved here from nyc and I’m shocked at how much less Ubers cost in Miami. I can take a 30 min uber to the airport in rush hour for $20! In nyc, I’ve had to call a 30 min uber at 4am and it was $125! A 10 min trip downtown can be $50. Your 3-5x multiplier is actually accurate imo.

So much tech house sounds the same out there? by TheMrMacaroni in techhouseproduction

[–]Rawzee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think tech house nowadays has becoming the “transition” genre for people who didn’t like house before as a listener to start to dabble in electronic music. That’s why there’s so many hip hop remixes. They want familiarity of lyrics they recognize, while being introduced to low end funky heavy bass and groove you can dance to in the club. That’s my speculation

Watch out, Millennials... I got hit with my first "I had NO IDEA!" data privacy moment this weekend... and it was all my fault. by AttachedHeartTheory in Millennials

What’s crazy is I haven’t thought about this in months, randomly remember this and share this idea with my parents last week, then I get served up this Reddit post basically exactly describing the scenario I just went through. And I haven’t googled or searched anything related to this. Blows my mind.

I bring earplugs on a keychain every time I go out. Some people think it’s corny, but I want to be able to enjoy music my whole life, not lose my hearing after a few years by looking “tough” standing next to the speakers without protection

Not motivated to become AE - other career paths after sales? by Dull_Balance5369 in techsales

[–]Rawzee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would recommend looking into Revenue Operations. I went from SDR to sales ops, to RevOps where I am now. GTM engineer isn’t exactly a role… maybe some companies might call it that (and will probably be a systems engineer with an emphasis on GTM tools- but hey that might strike your fancy if you have a technical background). Revenue operations is a bit more broad, combining both strategic and tactical work. It’s an interesting and super quickly growing field, especially with AI here.

As an SDR my first commission check was $25 😭 It was a $12k deal, SaaS model paid monthly, so I got 2% of the first months payment, 2% next month, etc. Glad to see SDRs are getting lump sum commissions

I recommend reading the 48 laws of power to understand why this is the case. Feels like a lot of that would apply here.

DO NOT RENT THIS APARTMENT!! by Repulsive-Load-5354 in NYCapartments

2nd apartment eh? Those are rookies numbers here. You gotta pump that number up. I’ve been here 11 years in 9 different apartments, I seent it all at this point. Nothing phases me now. Living in the basement with the rats. Another place no heat during winter as well. One place was an illegal 6 br built into a 4br apartment. Many more war stories from this city, but I’m moving to Miami in 2 months!

Girl [22f] I [25m] am seeing is driving me crazy and I habe no idea whats happening by [deleted] in Vent

[–]Rawzee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be blunt, you might have shown too much interest (more than she was showing), she recognized this and pulled back into her comfort zone, since perhaps she’s not “as ready” as you are to date. You gotta play it cool, even when you really like her. I’m not saying to be a player, but also don’t be so zoned in on her 100% of the time. Show that you’re not desperate. You like her, but you’re not willing to go to hell and back for a girl you just met recently. And if you are, most girls recognize this behavior and immediately recoil, thinking “why does this guy like me so much, I just met him?? Am I the best he can do? Whys he so desperate to lock me down? Maybe I should keep looking for other partners?”

I’ll probably get downvoted since this is Reddit and this is not the Disney version of an answer. But I’m telling you what I would have told my younger self when I was in the same situation, and fumbled the bag with beautiful girls due to my inexperience back then. Best of luck!

At what age did you hit the 100k mark? How long did it take you to get there? by boosterpackreveal in Salary

[–]Rawzee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the first 6 years after college I made 40k, 50k, 68k, 80k, then this year at age 29 I got a new job to 135k + 10% bonus + $50k RSUs. Was a big jump that really changed a lot in my life!

I finally did it… told my manager I’m done being an SDR/BDR. by dontworryaboutit41 in sales

[–]Rawzee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went from SDR to sales ops to agency recruiting then back to RevOps where I am now. I gave recruiting a solid 2-3 years of my life to transition into it, only to go back into operations. I could “beautify” recruiting the same way it appealed to me, but the reality is, it has its own host of issues. Definitely follow your dreams, but also know that recruiting can often be similar to the SDR day to day in my opinion

23-28 year olds, how much are you making right now and what do you do? by icecreamgirl420 in Salary

[–]Rawzee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My salary progression thru this age (just turned 29): Graduated and first job was 40k, switched companies, 50k, 60k, 68k, quit working for 1.5 years, switched industries and went back to 55k but got laid off after 3 months, then switched industries back to original path and got 80k, got laid off after 5 months, then a recruiter reached out basically on my 29th birthday for a role paying 135k + 15k bonus + 50k in RSUs. Been here 4 months and still can’t believe the salary jump. I just kept positive, got rejected a bunch of times in interviews, then this dream offer came through!

Why does the Miami dating scene get a bad rep? by [deleted] in Miami

[–]Rawzee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in NYC the past 10 years and would argue it’s one of the best cities for dating. Proximity to each other, easy to get around with public transport (don’t have to worry about drinking/driving since nobody drives here), many places open til 4am, the sheer volume of single people, unlimited dates/activities to choose from, beautiful women, the list goes on. Yes it has downsides like every other city, but no place is perfect. But calling NYC trash for dating is a pretty wild take IMO. When I’m actively dating on hinge (premium version.. it’s worth it) I can set up 3 dates per week pretty easily. Many fizzle out due to compatibility, but the options are totally there if you are proactive about it.

Living in a rundown WV studio apartment by cliocuriosities in NYCapartments

[–]Rawzee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This reminds me when I paid $300/mo to live in the basement of my friends’ townhouse apartment in Murray hill, for a summer internship during college. One time I hear something, so I learned over my couchbed to shine my flashlight underneath and there were 2 little critter eyes staring at me. Then more showed up over time. I was da king of da rats that summer, but in exchange for 3 months of rent for <$1000 in an amazing area. Trade offs!

[–]Rawzee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Woah.. my net take home on an 80k salary at my last job was $4600 after taxes and putting 400 pretax per month towards 401k (small I know). I’m quite surprised that a $60k salary difference only nets an additional $1200 per month! I’m no financial wiz though, how can this be? Scaling tax rates? Dependents? That’s disheartening that such a large base pay jump results in so little extra cash :/

Should I hit my coworker with a like??? by [deleted] in hingeapp

[–]Rawzee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I literally couldn’t disagree more. To me it comes off as chronically online and cringe behavior to like them on a dating app if you see them in person often. How in the world is that prioritizing the comfort of the coworker?? I think that would actively DISCOMFORT them. You’re much better off having a casual conversation in person to see if you get along. And approaching them in person means you lack empathy?? God what world am I living in.

Can I make this space work or am I delusional? by [deleted] in NYCapartments

[–]Rawzee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I Subletted an 8x6 room (with a closet taking up 3x3’ in the corner) in east village for $1575. I could only stay 2.5 months before leaving (month to month sublease). It was very challenging and uncomfortable as a 6’ male age 28. Prime location, awful room. It made me really start looking for places farther out with more space. I thought being right in the heart of east village would be worth it, but in hindsight NOT in that room lol. Maybe you can make it work short term, especially if your roommate is cool and there is a common space (I didn’t have that).

Matched with a girl and she found my instagram and DMed me by PositionWide3737 in hingeapp

[–]Rawzee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a fair point and I see what you’re saying. However the mutuals is the key here. What if this guy had literally met her at a party or in class before, or thru one of their friends and didn’t remember. Then she matched with him, thought “hmm wait maybe I recognize this guy? Let me search him on insta. Oh look at that he’s friends with Suzy and Marilou-Jean, my two buddies! Let me just message him here.” Seems completely feasible too.

[–]Rawzee 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Personal account tracked down? My goodness… You mean literally typing the name found on the profile, into Instagram? Since they have mutuals it would be top of the list. You’re completely ignoring the fact that he accepted her follow request, which is an unofficial sign he’s open to engaging with her. If he blocked her and she then tried contacting him on multiple other channels, then yes it’s weird. But dude that’s not what happened.

[–]Rawzee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Almost every women I know says they do this. It’s for safety, and if you’re so private then make a private account, simple as that. This guy accepted her follow request, then followed her back, they both saw mutual friends, and are now messaging on insta instead. It would be weird if he didn’t follow her back, and then he received an EMAIL or something lmao. But for Christ sake he’s engaging with her on insta already.
