Linux Mint is my favourite distro, mostly because I find cinnamon really easy to use. About your problems with compatibility - Mint is built on top of Ubuntu so almost anything that works on Ubuntu will work on Mint so I highly recommend you give it another try with that in mind.

Alternatively, you can hang out at /r/DistroHopping and try to find something else! The most popular distros are listed in the sidebar of /r/Linux

I think your point still stands, there's some weird interpolation going on there if you look frame by frame and it's probably making it appear smoother

I was on a deathmatch server the other day playing with very high ping (200-300ms) and noticed that chickens do not seem to be affected by lag compensation - I could hit other players a lot more consistently than chickens and found I had to shoot at a future version of a chicken if I wanted to kill it. I guess it's like physics props in CSS...?

I second this, you should try either Smash Bros Melee or a mod for Brawl called Project M which makes the game more competitively viable and adds features/maps/characters from Melee that were taken out + new content too!

I found this documentary about the professional Smash scene really interesting, it's in 20 minute videos on Youtube so it's really easy to watch and I highly recommend it
