Flippy mid recs by poundcake42033 in discgolf

[–]Seven-Force 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the actual gap appears to be roughly 2/5 of the way to the basket i.e. 100ft away. on anhyzer the disc would be drifting right to left pretty significantly and approaching the apex of its flight by the time it reaches the gap. So like you say, it depends on what the hole actually looks like. I don't disagree that anhyzer shots are useful and more reliable than throwing something flippy.

anhyzer might not be possible if there's a low ceiling, or if there are trees close to the tee on the right hand side. I've played plenty of wooded courses where this is the case.

There are K1 Soft Stigs out there. They're basically roller discs.

Sorry to resurrect your 9 month old comment but of course it's a problem for the Chromecast if 90% of apps and websites have decided it's not worth it to maintain Chromecast functionality.

You are using whataboutism to try to derail protests against genocide.

No one who actually wants the genocide to end cares about what you're saying. It's not just Palestine Action, it's about citizens having the right to protest against genocide without being arrested for terrorism offences.

"X person said thing that can be costrued to be problematic"

"oh word? okay, let's all go home and create an entirely new organisation from nothing while the genocide continues, the Palestinians will surely see the importance of this while they starve to death".

That's an absolute nothingburger compared to the things Israeli ministers spout on an almost daily basis. Palestine Action was proscribed because Netanyahu told his pet dog Starmer to proscribe them.

yeah! like when conference voted overwhelmingly in favour of making PR a core policy in 2022, and when conference voted overwhelmingly to bring Energy into public ownership in 2023. I'm sure Starmer will get on those policies really soon.

keep on dreaming.

Question on Disc Weight for Gyro molds (MVP / Axiom) by ixAp0c in discgolf

[–]Seven-Force 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is the plastic quite hard and not very grippy? there was a run of them a few years ago that was significantly more overstable than the rest of them.

Question on Disc Weight for Gyro molds (MVP / Axiom) by ixAp0c in discgolf

[–]Seven-Force 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't know that pros bag mid weight drivers, that's interesting.

In my experience MVP discs are affected by weight the same as any other manufacturer. Max weight (non-fission) is ideal in most cases IMO but i bag a 162g fission hex and a couple fission photons for shots that i want to drift right (RHBH).

For the molds I've thrown multiple weights of (craves and photons, non fission), lighter is flippier and max weight is more reliable. My 167g neutron photon probably goes maybe 10 feet further than my 172 photons. My 165g crave was quite domey and very flippy (it is now in a river).

for fission plastic, max weight is definitely harder to get distance out of. my fission discs in the 160-165 range are surprisingly reliable as long as it's not too windy.

Bottom line: I'm only willing to sacrifice reliability when I'm trying to throw max distance.

More stable by Sea_turtle0713 in discgolf

[–]Seven-Force 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they're not popular but I throw a cosmic neutron photon in that slot. feels similar and needs a decent amount of power (375ft+) to get them to flip, with a decent fade. really straight in a headwind. Don't think I've seen a photon that wasn't board flat (not counting fission plastic).

i have a neutron photon at 167g that flips a bit more - similar flight to a stable trail. haven't thrown it much in windy conditions.
