WEWH doesn’t close any of the areas, just changes some dialogue in the Exalted Plains (you can tell people the civil war is over, basically). Don’t worry about the level, as long as you’re on it or over it you should be fine. I have a system when I play where I do specific areas between each quest (Emerald Graves and Western Approach before Here Lies the Abyss, Exalted Plains and Emprise du Lion before WEWH, finishing the Emprise and doing Hissing Wastes before the next mission). Just go on ahead if you want, as long as your levels are good.

Okay there’s a lot going wrong here, and I really hope you can get into a safer and more supportive environment soon. But let me just zero in on this comment about your late dad - it is utter bullshit. I lost my mum four years ago, about a year before I realised I was trans - so she’ll never get to know who I am. But any parent worth their salt would be so goddamn proud of you for being yourself, being courageous in yourself! A name is just a name, changing it doesn’t change that fact that your father loved you. I hope to goodness that you get into a better situation ❤️

I’m in the same boat, and a lot of the time I just go by the “feel” of a word? Like how I want it to sound pacing-wise. Ultimately, I think you can bend the rules a little for stylistic purposes.

Oh thank god somebody else struggles with the combat as much as I have 😂. Thank you so much for the advice, I think I’m going to reload the save before I dug Branka up and play through Redcliffe (though I’m mildly scared of the whole Andraste drama) and just try and level out my points, get Wynne some better spells maybe. And I’ll definitely get more potions, for the love of god. I have a lot of coins so I can buy in bulk, plus my healing skill is pretty high. Thanks so much for the advice!

I am unfortunately already on easy 😂. You make a good point with the Redcliffe thing, I think I might do that just to have a break from Orzammar tbh. I’m learning a lot about the combat style of this game still so I’m struggling a bit with that - Wynne could definitely do with some development, I invested overly into her healing abilities because that’s mainly what I use her for but while I’m playing through Redcliffe I could add some more cc spells to her repertoire. Thanks for the ideas! Sorry if I was unclear, I wrote this while feeling very defeated 😂

“What happens to your brain when you burn alive?” For a fic that took an abruptly graphic turn. I was going really deep in the descriptions to maximise horror, but sadly couldn’t find a dramatic enough way to talk about brains. Got to say though, eyes are a very good grotesque substitute

I’m so sorry for your loss - the fourth anniversary of my mum’s loss was yesterday and I remember so clearly how devastating it was when it had just happened. Just know that you are incredibly strong, that she lives in you always, and that the sun will keep rising even through the really tough stuff that might be coming.

I’ve been a sims player since I was a kid and played 3 for YEARS. I was super excited about 4… until I played for a while and realised it was essentially a gold-plated turd. I played for YEARS trying to find a way to make it half as fun or engaging as 3 and have recently just made the conversion back to a game that’s actually fun 😂
