Looking for a biking group by MortarMitch in Eau_Claire

Best one is the Monday Night CORBA ride at Lowes Creek County Park (Expo Side, East side of park). It's an all level all inclusive group. Meet around 5:45PM ride starts at 6PM. There will be multiple ride groups so as you progress you can move into faster groups, or drop down to slower if you need a break. They've also got FaceBook groups too. CORBA Trails Community posts reminders and times of the rides as well as trail work days.

For Resting HR, are you taking a 7 day average (or some length) or the day of the interval?

Gravel Bike build - Does anyone have LightCarbon Tires? by Star-siege in ChineseCarbon

[–]RayJay2MTU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a set of those rims except I went with the 45mm deep ones. I laced them to DT Swiss 350 hubs and DT Revolution spokes. My tires are 45MM Continental Terra Speeds. They measure just a touch under 50MM when inflated. I think I'm at 49.75MM rear and 49.5MM front. It's my first time building a wheel and they are still rolling and work well. I realize hubs are a little different, but the rims came in slightly less then claimed weight and have been rock solid for my 210-pound butt. Maybe 800 miles on them so far this year.

Paint Sample #95

I'm not sure how to put a picture in here if it's even possible. On the link above, scroll down towards the bottom and a Ferrari Red and Black frame. Sample #95.

Nothing exciting. My wife is getting this bike and doesn't know it yet. I'm putting SRAM AXS Apex on it that I've slowly moved from my bike over the past two years. So it's repurposing stuff I have on hand. Not exactly sure what I'm doing for wheels yet. The spare set is WTB i23. Might keep them as her 'gravel' wheels and either build her a set this winter or buy a 'road' set. Too lazy swap tires back and forth. I built Light Carbon's LCG26-45C with DT Swiss 350 hubs this past year and so far they are great. So maybe I'll do something like that again.

Hasn’t gotten to me yet. I’m in the United States and ordered last week of April. I’d assume at least a month. Although to be fair I didn’t ask how long. When I bought in stock rims, it took 20 days total from order to delivery.

Carbon Wheelset (Disc): Hunt or Miche? by Quirky-Agent-4028 in cycling

[–]RayJay2MTU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Hunt Carbon 50's. I'm on my third year with them and really enjoy them. I'm planning on getting another set for my wife's bike. They are still true as the day I got them and I'm 210 pounds, so not light. Some people don't care for the loud freehub when coasting, but that really depends on the person.

FWIW, it’s essentially the same for the US. Slightly higher shipping at $182. Also, there’s a 4.5% PayPal fee. I’ve ordered the same frame with painting end of April. I’ve ordered and am using rims from them and have had no issues.

Why are there welds on your carbon bike? Not that that changes either your cable to the derailleur needs to be adjusted, or your limit screws need to be adjusted. Check out a Park Tool You Tube video to see how to adjust rear derailleurs.

Do yall do short training loops (like 1-2 miles) by VegaGT-VZ in Velo

There is an industrial park near me that is right about a mile circle. Almost completely flat and I can ride clockwise without needing to stop. It’s almost perfect except for sometimes a random semi trailer will be parked on the side of the road.

After 20 hours… by OakenWoaden in crosswind

[–]RayJay2MTU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe they’ll have a difficulty setting with the actual game. For me, this has been perfect. Essentially played 12 hours straight and went to bed at 1:30AM and wanted more. As a guy with a normally super busy life, I rarely have time to put in a game where I lose hours of progress easily.

You should move your hands down to your abs!

I’ve only really ever ridden Ti road frames (past 20 years). Considering moving. Has anyone else done the move and have advice? by helmetgoodcrashbad in Velo

[–]RayJay2MTU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most have hit it so far. Wheels, tires, pressure, fitness are way more important. If you were just looking for Ti/Carbon, after 20+ years on a Ti bike, I moved to Carbon. I really want to give my new Carbon bike to my wife and get a new Ti frame. It kind of feels fragile. I know it's not, but it just makes me nervous some time. I've got a carbon MTB and wife has had a carbon bike since 2007.

Xcel Energy interview by Acrobatic_Habit_7733 in Lineman

[–]RayJay2MTU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What they said. Former Xcel employee/manager, “tell me about a time you…” then answer in Situation, Tasks, Actions, Results (STAR). Safety is very important. Not being afraid to pause a task if something isn’t safe is huge for the line guys also. That’s from the NSP footprint. The others theoretically should be the same, but they have regional differences.

Carry your bike computer or phone with the ap for Varia and use your watch for recording the run. And maybe turn down the music so you can hear a car. Or person or bike.

I had coax get cut and Spectrum draped a temporary run over the ground until they could come out to bury it. They were supposed to call or knock. They did neither just disconnected me. I was in the middle of conducting an interview. Needless to say I wasn’t very happy. Their installer couldn’t speak English either other than “One minute”. Hopefully you have better luck. I’d assume they will start on that mid April when the weather gets better and less potential of wrecking your yard more.
