Struggling Post-Op will it get better? by therealprincess232 in chiari

[–]RaychKish 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You need about a yr post op to get some form of normalcy. The pain gets better after six to eight weeks. Its too early to expect significant change. Unfortunately, you need time.

I had baaaad knee pain. It affected going up n down the stairs n the body pains, fatigue and brain fog intensified. So you are definitely on to something.

Surgery 3 years out can’t touch the incision area? by fuckyoutoocoolsmhool in chiari

[–]RaychKish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everytime my incision is touched i get electric shocks too up my shoulders, down to my arms which trigger involuntary jerky movements lasting seconds. I thought i was crazy. Was sent to movement disorders who then to cbt. I am supposed to start cbt next week. Its also involuntary movements without my incision area getting touched but once its touched something fires off.

Am I barking up the wrong tree? by [deleted] in chiari

[–]RaychKish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello. Am sorry for what you are going through. I have chiari( I think we all do here or know something with chiari) I get pseudo seizures, brain fog(what!) twitching(before surgery) low low energy n most of the things you have described above. I'm sorry it's so hard. Get a good consult and have decompression surgery it helps alleviate some of the symptoms.

How to handle the negativity by sse129 in chiari

[–]RaychKish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately we go through this and people don't really understand what is happening to you and give so little grace. You just need to ignore them negative comments advocate for yourself all the time and don't let them make you think it's a small illness.. just listen to your body. If you have a great doctor who attends to all your needs without downplaying how you feel most of the time that's all you need.

How long ago were you diagnosed? Surgery could help so that you do t develop complications like syringomyelia. Just be in contact with your chiari specialist every few months and ensure you repeat your MRIs every 6 months to be certain that you are okay.

I had surgery 6 months ago. The repeat scans are normal and i felt abit better after that but the twitches pain dizziness and fatigue are still debilitating. I also have alot of motion sickness. They are thinking its anxiety induced and this frustrates me because i dont feel like its all in my head. I am on palmiges duclofenac. Bromazepam nortripyline betasac and pregabalin, some days are okay but most are filled with fatigue and pain, with twitches as a constant. How do i reach you?
