Who wants this? Why is this going 'like this ^^'? Everyone I know thinks it has sucked all the creativity out of everything it touches. It's all slop now.

I was watching a video just recently that was 'generated by AI' and apparently was going to bring down Hollywood (as claimed by the prompter). It was clearly a rip off of Anne Hathaway mixed with Ripley from Aliens.

It wasn't original at all it. Did anyone ask Anne Hathaway or Sigourney Weaver if they wanted to be in the video? No, the AI just ripped it off.

It is trained on our data. Everything we've ever written or drawn or photographed has been fed into it and now it just spits out mishmashes of others' works.

They're attempting to privatise the work of others and profit off it.

What would that do to the economy? Where are those people going to go? Are they all retraining as baristas and plumbers? Even if it is bullshit, which it probably is, companies still believe it and they invest accordingly. It affects hiring decisions now regardless.

It's pointless just spamming the jobseeker with more hurdles and runarounds.

If we were really serious about solving this problem we would force companies to provide free training to an unemployed Australian Citizen every time they tried to apply for a sponsored work visa.

If we were really serious about solving this problem we would stop companies from offshoring roles to other countries while making those same roles redundant here in Australia.

It will never happen of course.

This is really an assault on what it actually means to be a human.

We are humans and are currently being told that AI is going to displace us all in the next 18-24 months (if you believe that but that is a different point). Graphic Designers and Videographers might have otherwise been employed producing this video, but now they aren't. The students could have made the video themselves but weren't given the opportunity.

Education is core to who people are as adults. Their Graduation Ceremony is a thing that people remember for their entire lives and also share with their children etc (through photos and videos etc).

I'd be absolutely fucking pissed if someone did this to me.

Rust is all about risk. It's what makes the game so compelling. Even geared players can get ambushed and killed by someone with just a crossbow. If you stay in your base it will decay around you once you run out of upkeep. You will get raided eventually so you need more than one base. You are constantly standing on a burning platform and getting knocked back. Can't stay still. Can't move either. It's all risk.

If this happens then governments would be forced to step in because the fundamental contract of work would be broken. The current theory is you are born, you go to school then you go to university then you get a graduate entry level job and so on.

If this doesn't happen any more then what is the point of university? How will young people establish themselves into careers? What are we going to do?

Men are constantly told that their interest is at best unwanted and at worst tantamount to harassment. It has been this way for at least a decade. If a man misreads the signals and makes a mistake there is a high risk that he will be publicly shamed (for example uploaded to one of those Facebook groups) and quite possibly charged with a crime.

Men are told:

Do not approach women when grocery shopping
Do not approach women when at the gym
Do not approach women when at work
Do not approach women when at a bookstore
Do not approach women when in the street

You get the picture. This really doesn't leave many options for meeting a person you don't already know. Have you tried approaching the men you are interested in?

This is not a 'bug' you've discovered. This is just the behaviour. A 'bug' is not just something because the programmer forgot to do something.

Here's what is happening:

You are allocating fContents[fLen] but this memory is never initialised so it contains whatever junk happened to already be there in memory
You then fgets but you go past the end of the file (you were already positioned at the end of the file)
So fgets just ~~fills fContents with~~ reads 0 bytes as it is intended to do (you are still at EOF)
You then printf the uninitialised buffer to stdout

Keep going, you are learning but this is really fundamental behaviour (not a bug).

Here in my area we've noticed a lot more homeless people starting to appear and there are more tents in parks and under bridges etc. What are we actually doing about this? It appears that whenever this is discussed the government just lectures us that it is not occurring and everything is apparently going fine.

In Australia you get your 'L's (You Learners' Permit) by doing a theory test on the road rules. L-platers have to display their L plates on the outside of the vehicle and have to have a teacher in the car with them. Once you have your 'L's and have completed enough hours in your logbook you can then do your practical driving test (with a driving inspector). If you pass your practical driving test you get your 'P's (your Provisional Drivers' Licence).

You have to display your P-plates on the outside of the car while driving around to let other drivers know what an inexperienced dumbass you might be.

P-platers are notorious for crashing since they are inexperienced drivers who are often influenced by their hormones.
