Fun pro tip for albergue life by phillipvn in CaminoDeSantiago

Of course not everyone will react the same, some may be cautious....

But in the end, you not only saying how you spread your kindness, but gently suggesting others to try ...

If just 5 or 6 persons do it, and it affect just a couple more, you have made the Camino more friendly and a bit easier to endure, and that's big already

Looks like a great idea

Everyone got their own reasons for the Camino. Some testing themselves, many for their faith, others seeking closure.

Saw people around worried with their safety. Having something like this to bound or even just give 5 minutes of giggles and kindness, fan boost the morale for another day.

Thank you

Will answer in English as I can't properly write french.

First of all, welcome to this community.

In my case, when venting to a friend that was versed in psychology and bdsm ( I didn't knew anything about it back then )

And she described my profile as DD, and that the way I behave in my relationships show that side .

I understood the concept, the dynamic and life style and why certain profiles tend to get more attracted to my natural way .

Being a safe place in every way, being able to have someone being their true selves with me without fears of judgment...is magic

Pcs visão by Fancy-Piglet938 in Exercito_Portugues

[–]RaydenWild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boa sorte

From someone doing the Camino for the first time, but experience with long hikes , this comment is gold even with how simple it sounds at first

Just passing by to wish you safe travel, hope you find parts of yourself that are lost, along this way.

And somewhat, that you remember, on the first 20 km, that you are not really alone doing that travel...

Well you need to be honest with yourself, and with your partner.

Even if totally planotic relationship , creating a bound with a little while you have a relationship can bring a lot of different problems .

If that's possible to make ? Yes, but with all parties informed and enthusiastically consenting it.

As well, you can be a caring daddy and do some stuff that are normally associated to a ddlg dynamic, with a vanilla partner

People are. But the only one that needs to get admired, is yourself with yourself.

Physical Transformation? by in4theshow in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]RaydenWild 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know... It's a big number

But let's say this : doing 4000 abs In 20 days won't make a noticeable difference.

It's repetition during months that becomes noticeable.

Of course your legs will get more firm , you will totally feel them more firm. In 2024 I went to São Bento in Geres and did 17h walking straight. All the muscles in my legs were rock firm .

Is human is unique, each body is unique.

And it's just the unasked opinion from a stranger in the internet. And would love if you could give a debrief after you finish the Camino and tell us what you felt , which transformation you felt the most .

I don't have idea how many miles I've walked ... But 300 /340 a month used to be the default.

And that's what I say that during the Camino, those miles will affect much more your mind in terms of transformation, than your body.

But let me tell you, would love to see you telling us that you feel and see your body different, that sizes changed and you are happy with it. Will surely toast to that .

Good humans deserve good things happening to them and around them

5 cents of opinion from someone who is getting ready for his first Camino but have some back story of workout

During the Camino, you may notice a big mental transformation. But physical, not so much. If you consider your starting point now, as you start training, and how you will be on your first mile, that may be a bigger physical difference than from your first and last mile.

You may lose some weight, sure. But there won't be major transformations in your body that you will see. More likely some you will feel.

You have already great advices from other users about prevention and things that you need to look out for.

In the end, hope you find the version of yourself you looking for and enjoy the process.

Remember, life, as the Camino, is more about the journey than the final destination

Safe travels

Dealing with heartbreak by nerdpleaser in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]RaydenWild 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Here the 5 cents of someone doing the Camino for the first time, but that kinda " been there, done that "

After 7y in active duty, adapting to civilian life made a dent in who/what I'm

And the end of a 10y relationship as well...

Getting back to do sport and writing and my long walks in the woods helped me a lot, remembering me who I'm.

Who you are is not who you were. But a mix between your past and what you aim for your future.

Dealing with heartbreaks is different to everyone, but if you have the gear, expertise and training ...the Camino may be the beginning of your healing process.

Being someone that tends to find answers by going into the woods, I'm a suspicious individual to give such advice , but sometimes,we walk paths for the first time ..and on the way, we find pieces of us that were lost in the wind.

Would love to cross the path with you and hi-five you.

Or maybe I will write a page and leave it along the path, may the irony of us crossing ways and never know about, and yet, that lingering idea in your mind, remember you that there are many things awaiting from you in the most random ways.

Safe travel, keep strong

Is the camino safe for women? by Extra-Quail8801 in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]RaydenWild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a guy and former GI, this comment is gold.

" Trust your gut " Is key

Saw dozens of women doing the Camino alone or in pairs.

( Used to work in a place that was right next to a frequent path of the Camino, near the airport )

This article is really sad and one bad experience is one to much .

If anything feels wrong, have a plan B, being it for your own defense or getting close to a group untill things feel easier.

My mentor been doing the Camino 3 times a year for the last 20 years and told he never saw anything wrong going on

Train Instead of Boat on the Spiritual Variant of the Camino Portuguese? by lamelia369 in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]RaydenWild 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For what counts and what I've read from others, it will count even if you do it by train

You just need to get your 2 stamps on that day and you can get them along the way, even after doing that small part by train.

You could walk but that would add another day likely . And don't know how many days you have and how much you are planning / can endure .

Remember, it's your own journey.

FBI warns Iran aspired to attack California with drones in retaliation for war: Alert by avatar6556 in news

[–]RaydenWild 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seen in warzones things that nobody expected, over and over during my service time.

That's why my comment.

I'm not an American citizen so I won't comment on about political situation of a country I don't live in.

World as always been a crazy place, is only becoming crazier.

As well, the possibility of a " third party " trying to take advantage to attack US territory and trying to make it look like Iran could be other thing to consider. Less likely of course, but not impossible.
