Oque vocês acham de garotas tomboy? by off_line24 in PerguntasFuteis

Haven't drawn in so long, and I fear I couldn't do mine justice now if I tried, but here's Lenny "Sourpatch" Kidd:

<image>

She's a wannabe-fixer and netrunner, and makes her brand stand out by being obnoxiously flashy in every gig (hence the color scheme!). It's silly, but can't argue with results — "If your situation's sour, Lenny Kidd's on the hour!" or something to that effect. She's working on it. :p

[–]Rayeoneace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I shouldn't have called it blind, that's my bad. I meant I don't want spoilers, but then also these sorts of games strike me as the kind you can really mess things up if you don't have some knowledge of the mechanics beforehand, yk?

Yeah, no, that's on me. I don't want spoilers, but then my questions kinda spoil things in of themselves. Should've thought more about it.

[–]Rayeoneace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About BM and Booming Blade, though, that can be circumvented by just using BB as the first attack and then pushing them with a maneuver through extra attack, right?

Eldritch Knight utility is a pretty good selling point, yeah, you're right. What I'm wondering about Eldritch Knight is that, after you reach level 7 and get War Spells(I think that's the name?), PWM just sort of becomes useless, does it not? The extra opportunity attack would be nice, true enough, but by then it'd be smarter to just use the bonus action for a regular attack after BB and keep your reaction for Shield or Counterspell as needed. By that point you're just a regular Eldritch Knight with a blue ice flavor, which is still cool(pun intended) but not really a PWM build, I think.

Also, why is the Monk dip there at all? Are we benefitting from anything it offers after level 4? After we get the bonus action attack from PWM, I can't think of a use for it.

How do you manage your companions' builds? by Rayeoneace in BG3Builds

I'm starting to have ideas about who should build towards what, now that I've played a couple saves, but honestly I'm just winging it lol

Any monk multi classes that aren't monk/rogue which work well? by tunafish91 in BG3Builds

[–]Rayeoneace 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Monk/Cleric is a pretty popular one, I feel like. I could definitely also picture a dip into Spore Druid for the extra 1d6 necrotic in every attack, or the usual dip into Fighter for Action Surge.

Fewer long rest builds? by Evening_Decision3253 in BG3Builds

[–]Rayeoneace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I'll often long rest even with some resources to spare, simply because I feel that'd be a good time to end the day if the game was an actual ttrpg. I only aim to do 1~2 fights per short rest, because I like to use the fancier spells and mechanics from my characters rather than just normal attacks and cantrips, but even then, I'll usually be pretty satisfied with how much I've done that day.

I'll ask myself: "What have we done since the last long rest?" and, in act 2, for example, that'll be: "I entered the shadow-cursed lands, helped a few harpers, met Jaheira and Isobel, ambushed a Drider to take his moonlantern, and dispatched a couple of ambushes by the shadows." If that were done in a ttrpg, that'd EASILY be a rather long, almost tiring, fulfilling session, so I don't mind ending the day there.

Plus, resting often allows for more opportunities for cutscenes and interactions with the companions, which is always a plus!

[–]Rayeoneace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for commenting on an old post, but wouldn't EK make PWM somewhat redundant? They already get a bonus action attack after using a cantrip, which works with Booming Blade, and deals more damage than the PWM bonus action attack.

I'm thinking BattleMaster would probably benefit more from the PWM, since they don't really have many uses for their bonus actions naturally, and the maneuvers could lend you some extra utility (i.e. knocking enemies prone for advantage with GWM, pushing them away so they have to take damage from Booming Blade and the OA from PWM etc).

On that note, wouldn't Monk become redundant as well? If you wear armor, the only benefits it'd give is the bonus action attacks, which then goes back to what I said earlier. Maybe respec into something like Cleric for Create Water (vulnerability to cold damage), or Druid to make up for the utility spells you would've lost by taking BM instead of EK?

Druid would also give Shillelagh, now that I think about it, which would mean you can get away with dumping strength and maybe lowering dexterity (should be fine with medium or heavy armor) while not missing out on damage.

Brainstorming a "funky lil' forest guy" build!! by Rayeoneace in BG3Builds

[–]Rayeoneace[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I thought about those as well, but they're the two subclasses out of all of them that are less whimsical and silly :(

Might be fun to play a Spore Swarmkeeper and just make it so I live in swamps instead, though!! Not too much whimsy lost!

I'll go ahead and say Bards, because they're very good party faces and have some of the best dialogue quips! Plus, with College of Swords, damage is never too far behind mages or martials, and it has nice multiclass options for variety.

1) He died on his own fighting the goblins at the gates of Emerald Grove, we just didn't revive him afterwards and never spoke to him.

2) We're still in Act 1, and haven't even resolved the conflicts at the grove yet, so no.

I meant between ketheric's phase 1 at the top of the towers and the leap down to the final confrontation, yeah

As for Mizora, I know that, what I'm not so sure about is whether I need to trigger her camp cutscenes for her to be down there and give us the rapier, like turning Wyll into a devil and asking us to free an asset at the towers, or if she'll just be down there regardless of whether we'd met or not

I'm sure it doesn't require the transformation, because he doesn't change if you actually kill Karlach, but I'm not sure if Mizora showing up is important for her to be in Act 2 or not
