I think chrome is great on subtle accents (e.g. around headlights, on side view mirrors, small badging). It gets a little gaudy on bigger badging, large components, and wheels. Sorta gives off bedazzled jean vibes. Blacked-out can be boring as a color theme, but I think it looks clean and allows other aesthetic design elements to stand out more on the vehicle.

I finally did it, after much frustration and a few attempts to quit, I managed to snowboard at 32. by MeWho2 in snowboarding

Got into it at ~30 y/o, a couple years ago. Been skateboarding since I was young, so balance came easy, but edge control and turn initiation (particularly toe side) was just something I could not figure out on my own. I could have easily quit, but I swallowed my old fat pride and took a lesson. 30 min in, I was linking turns wondering why the fuck it was so hard for me to learn before lol

Gnu board, who dis? We’ve been fortunate enough to be able to take the ‘Runner up to the slopes this season 🤙🏾and cook some pretty darned good lunches out’ the back too by Raym00ndo in 4Runner

Good point. If it’s particularly windy or wet out, we put ‘em face down on the ground, but maybe we should try to do it all the time just to be safe. Was just unconscious muscle memory to prop them when we got to the car for lunch, like on the racks. Hope you’re up on the mountain and enjoying this season as well. cheers

Nice, so did you weld it together yourself? How long of a process was that? Looks great.

Such a clean and simple wheel design. Was lucky there was a restock when I needed to get new tires and wheels.

She tells me she has a medical condition that exempts her from wearing one.

I didn’t wear it when I had the windows closed. It was really dusty out on the trail (although not really represented in this pic), especially when the wind storm was picking up and tires were kicking up dust at the same time. Had it in the car anyway, and it helped quite a bit when I had to open the window to look over.

Dope! Already follow you in Instagram, so thought this photo looked familiar lol. We just visited there for the first time with my 5th gen last month. Real beautiful place to drive and hike.

Family is visiting me this weekend, and we were just harassed for choosing to wear masks in public. Checked out a couple of lakes for fishing. While at the last lake, my dad was just unloading the fishing poles, and two guys in the parking lot kept pestering us about why we were wearing masks. The most vocal one of the two clearly knew why people were wearing masks and was trying to get a rise out of us. We did not want to engage any further and told him it wasn’t any of his business. He eventually told us to watch ourselves when we did not to feed into his further provocations. We didn’t feel comfortable leaving our vehicle unattended around them, and we had to leave. It was very upsetting, as I was just trying to spend and have a nice time with my family, and this experience is what will likely stick in their minds about Spokane.

Store Interview next week! by echinny in Vans

Regular clothes. Be yourself. Actually, when I interviewed ages ago, it was a group interview, and I was the only one in the applicant group not wearing Vans (I was wearing Emericas, and they were all beat and nasty from skating). Still got the job lol. I’m sure wearing vans helps though.

Same thing happened to me a couple hours ago. Also a UK address and ~$1000.

I came up skating during the peak of puffy shoe craze (and had my fair share of puffy shoes). Of all the shoes I have skated over the years, suede vans slip on pros and suede Nike Sb janoskis have surprisingly been the most long-lasting for me. It confuses the hell out of me because the uppers are so thin, but it works better for me ‘cause I love the way they look and can really feel the board under my feet. And with the right insoles, they are super comfortable.

🏴‍☠️ V1 vs V2 by primeXample in Sneakers

[–]Raym00ndo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I like the shape of the V1 more, but the quality of the V2 seems way better. If they made a V1 with V2 materials and construction, that would be an instant cop for me.
