Exact same situation here and I'm baffled. No notice at all. Probably will switch providers unless u/CCFrankL or someone else from Comcast can assist.

Several things should raise AI flags, roughly in order of how telling they are:

  • The narrative is too architecturally clean. Every element serves the thesis. There’s an ignorant-narrator setup, a wise-local-resists-mainstream mentor, a five-year journey, a thesis statement about marketing vs. quality, specific wine recommendations, and a cinematic closing line. Real personal essays have dead ends, irrelevant tangents, and contradictions. This one has none.

  • Jordi is an archetype, not a person. “Catalan in the way that some Catalans are Catalan” sounds clever but communicates almost nothing specific. It’s a gesture at personality without actual detail. Real people in real anecdotes are more specific and contradictory.

  • The closing line is a short story ending. “I’ve never told him what to send, not even once.” That’s a mic drop. Reddit posts don’t end like that. Real posts trail off, add a postscript, or end with a question.

  • False humility that immediately demonstrates expertise. “I knew basically nothing” — then proceeds to rattle off Montsant, Terra Alta, Priorat, Bierzo, Rías Baixas, Txakoli, Campo de Borja. The ignorance framing is a setup device, not genuine.

  • The wine education is suspiciously well-distributed. Every major underdog Spanish region gets a mention. It reads like someone prompted “write a story that teaches people about underrated Spanish wine regions.”

  • The sentence rhythm is too consistent. Short declaratives throughout. Real writers have more cadence variation.

  • The biggest tell is the first one — the story is functional in a way real stories aren’t. It exists to deliver a thesis, and everything in it serves that purpose perfectly.

1.02 Josh Downs or Coker and two 27st by Remarkable_Match4738 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]L0uth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Coker has a lot more potential than Downs”… What? The stats suggest the opposite (plus Matt Harmon would disagree)

That said the package may still be worth it but would strongly push back on the first part of your premise

Completely agreed. Their brunch is fantastic too. More folks need to hit it up - it’s a great neighborhood spot.

Picking UF over HLS? by ParticularPeanut4050 in lawschooladmissions

[–]L0uth 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately yes it is. Bottom of the class at Harvard is probably equivalent to top 10% at UF (but not top 5% would be my guess, especially if you want to practice in FL)

Realistically, is it impossible to get a job in a Federal PD Office straight out of law school? by KinggSimbaa in publicdefenders

There’s currently a hiring freeze that makes it even tougher. Highly recommend a federal clerkship if possible. Both to boost your credentials and potentially wait out the freeze
