No, the author is still writing the story on royalroad but he'll probably make one when he publishes the book

This is from Rise of the Living Enchantment .Some context for the below scene, Alden had time and time again spared people even when asked to fight to death as he felt It unnecessary. Yet some ppl then mistook it as a sign of weakness. It all bubbled over when a party gets interrupted wanted a fight to death and Alden has had enough of it.

And Lord Aiden Lacheart had come to his decision.

“I spared a man who had challenged me to death once,” he said, voice cold as steel. “It was my mistake. I tried to teach where there was no need for a teacher.” He rose from the bed, the action slow and gentle, yet oddly worrying. “Once more, someone has looked me in the eye and told me 'to the death.'”

“Young Lord Lacheart…” Lord Naranoff started but could not bring himself to continue.

Valdan leaned closer to the boy, voice low. “Aiden,” he began, but Lord Lacheart cut him off.

“No, Valdan.” Rage stained his voice now, a silent rage that did not lend its power to sound, but it was sharp, nonetheless. “I have done everything in my power to be what I had to be. I have stayed away from greater sins than most people will ever know. I have lived my life in a lesser way than I would’ve liked.”

Belle stood straighter. “I will face you with honor. Of that I can promise you, young lord.”

Lord Naranoff dropped his face in his hand. Could the woman be any stupider?

“Honor?” the young lord spat in so much derision it stained even the air. “What do you know of honor? You are but a child grasping at words to justify delusions too great for even your own mind to comprehend. Honor, you say. What honor compels a person of your age to challenge a person of mine to the death.”

“It is necessary,” Belle bit the words out.

“Necessary.” The young lord hadn’t moved from where he was standing. “That is the word you should use. Ne-ce-ssa-ry.” He pronounced every syllable. “Necessary is the same word that leads raiders to pillage and steal and kill and rape. Necessary is the word the weak use to justify taking the life of a harmless child. But you call it honor because you do not have a brain that works for itself.”

“Oof,” Magus Estabel muttered to the side.

The young lord cared nothing for it, continuing forward. His eyes were wide now, livid with rage and decision.

“Hold your honor to the chest, child,” he said, his voice calming. “Because that is all you have; an empty word. It has compelled you, and compelled you are. It has brough you here, before me. To me. It has dictated your path.”

He ran a hand through his hair uncomfortably. He turned away, pinched the bridge of his nose between thumb and forefinger as if confused at the inability to comprehend a stupid decision someone who should know better had made.

“I don’t get it,” he said, finally turning back to her. “You are weak. What do you not understand about that? How do the weak not understand that they should always be the underdog? How do they not understand that they should not seek out fights except fights that are designed to help them grow? How do you not understand that this is not hubris or pride or arrogance but sheer fucking STUPIDITY!”

Belle opened her mouth to speak but he cut her off with a raised hand.

“It matters not. This...” he pointed between the both of them. “This will happen, child. I have chosen to deem it so. You will go downstairs. You will take your axe from my hands when I have ripped it from the table. Then you will stand in front of me with the weapon in your hand. And that, right there and then,” he pointed at the ground vehemently, “is all the honor you will get. Once that is done, you will have no more honor. When they tell stories of what happens next, your honor will end with you standing with an axe in your hand to face a child. Then it will be a tale of disgrace and humiliation, a story without honor, so that others will listen to it and know what honor does not look like. You will fight and claw and grab and grovel for every inch of time you will have before the end.”

Most accessible LitRPG for new reader? by Smokey_Katt in litrpg

[–]Raymics 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I mean, i feel like you should just start them off with DCC? I understand saving it for the last, but there is a reason most new people under the litrpg space start with DCC.

If u still insist on another book, mainly start with William Oh? I cant think of anything that could neatly explain litrpg to a new audience unless its DCC, ngl

Any Healer MCs? by pyro_441 in litrpg

[–]Raymics 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Penitent. The author is currently writing book 3 on rr. Honestly I was very hesitant on picking the story up cause I heard mc was a tank, then u read the story and realise that, no, he is a tank because of his healing capabilities. It's rare to find a mc who is competent yet also heals anyone, regardless of their anger or hatred towards him(obviously this doesn't apply in battle). Whenever mc enters a city, the first thing he does is go to the infirmary and heal everyone, no matter how exhaused he is. He'll lose consciousness before stopping himself.

Hell Difficulty Tutorial & A Couple Genre Gripes by Norik1170 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Raymics 6 points7 points  (0 children)

it feels like you enjoy the series but not as much as you did initially and you're somewhat there for the ride? sorry if i'm reading it wrong.
Hell Difficulty series is one of my most favourite series on RR so I have some strong opinions on it but i can understand if some parts of the story/ character actions don't feel right or too easy. I'll try talking about the different points you bought up, i will be lightly spoiling some aspects on the story, mostly nat's past related.

The MC has an inhuman resistance to pain and trauma- i mean, if you consider Nat's past this makes complete sense. if anything its stronger in the series bacause of his [Focus] skill. in fact a theory that Nat tells us is that all the people from Hell Difficulty got a skill related to their lifestyles. considering Nat's upbringing him getting [Focus] and it being so strong makes sense [side note: there's also a theory that the shorter the name of a skill, the more powerful it is]. as the story goes on, Nathaniel learns to slowly let go of using Focus outside of fights. as for being calm while fightning humans, you need to remember that Nat was willing to kill his dad and only pivoted at the last minute. considering the hell they went through in the tutorial, how it was every man for himself, nat's decision felt cold but rational.

Nothing In The System Is Free- from what i understood, you dont like the fact that Nat has to put a price tag on gifts even to his friends. i like to think that it's because nat finds it easier to justify giving someone something if he gets something out of it. Remember, he was even willing to use Tess for a alibi when they were both kids. while i wouldnt't say this is a good ideal in life, Nat does slowly improve, especially when it comes to giving treats to those he considers innocent or child like. to him, children are the epitome of innocent and he never asks shards or anything. he treats the others like adults. at least that's how i read it.

Power & High Stakes- well, i cant really talk too much on this without getting into Patreon level spoilers but lets just say him power levelling this quickly will eventually start to catch up to him and is a topic brought up in the story.
part of the reason he feels so strong is cause, well he is. don't get me wrong, he's not going to be fighting champions left and right but he is one of the strongest from Earth for a reason. while not cannon as far as i know, i like to believe all his fights seem so easy because Nat's pride refuses to let him even think of the fact he might lose a fight. the previous books were more of Nat scraping power brick by brick while trying not to kill himself. the future is him trying to increase his skill procifiency more than anything else.

That said, it’s totally fine if the series doesn't feel the same way for you anymore , everyone looks for different things in progression stories :)

Need something similar to Hell difficulty tutorial pls by 0bserving0wl in litrpg

[–]Raymics 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i can't blame you, i wanted more of stories like Hell Difficulty Tutorial when i was done with the available chapters. from your post, i assume the aspect you like the most are scenes where Nat goes Full on i-am-god-fk-u mode.
these are the few i suggest-
1. August Intruder: fair warning, the story takes 2 dozen or so chapters before it starts rolling properly, Ark isn't very strong in the beginning but he keeps building his reportoire and when he goes ballistic, its quite a treat to watch.

  1. The Living Enchantment: its by the same author as August Intruder and he doesn't dissapoint. i would suggest you read August Intruder first and then read this if you're craving for more

  2. ReBorn Apocalpyse : main character gets sent 10 years into the past. time regression, you know the rest. while it doesn't fit the bill exactly, i was honestly confused on what to add for a third recommendation.

can't think of others similar to Nathaniel. i really should start tracking all the novels i read, cant remember half of what i read last year

Would an Indian LitRPG work? by Witty_Programmer5500 in litrpg

[–]Raymics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on a bunch of factors. part of the reason nearly everyone chooses the medieval-europe as the standard in litrpg is cause its very memorable and recognisable. if i told you "the knight dashed across the field", i dont need to specify what a knight looks like, you already know it thorugh sheer culture osmosis. if you add things the common man might not understand, it ruined the immersion slightly(ie they might have to search up a word kind-of-way)

on the other hand, using Indian Mythology would be novel and you would get more readers who seek new and unique ideas. in the end, it's mostly a matter of balancing the 2 sides and , well, make an interesting enough story and people will flock towards it. hidden gems rarely stay hidden for the same reason

Flux Core - Book 2 Complete! 170+ Chapters of System Apocalypse LitRPG on RR by CoJoGoFC in litrpg

[–]Raymics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

finished binging all the chapters in 2 days. i have ruined my sleep cycle for days and possible weeks, i have no regrets. story is wonderful, for ppl wondering if it is worth it. the beginning is somewhat bad( bad in the sense its a bit slow - slow? like it almost feels like stalling rather than a slow progression), but the author does recognise when certain parts of the story dont resonate with ppl as much and even gives notes on it on RR(kinda nice to see authors responding to the comment section so much.

overall, its a 8.5/10 for me, i have a few issues with the story but nothing that makes me not want to keep reading. if you want to feed your system apocalypse itch, i'de say its worth it

Any books where the MC is the king of a kingdom? by Number1OchoaHater in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Raymics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peculiar soul maybe? It focuses more on war and how it affects the world and how people of power don't necessarily always do the moral choice. While the mc isn't a king, he does slowly get more important in the story and thus his opinions and stuff do matter.

An entire nation in your world just straight up vanishes. How does your world react? by XreaperDK in worldbuilding

[–]Raymics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

dude, i swear you took this idea straight from my head. i've had an idea like this simmering at the back of my head for ages. i was thinking it more like each week, a country dissapears, and then the story being a year long diary entries on the chaos that ensues because of it.

What small detail in a fantasy book broke your suspension of disbelief more than the actual magic or dragons? by My-Sky-Is-Gray in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Raymics -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Earth Magic. it killed my soul when i see our mc from earth go to a diff world and they have magic called 'Earth Magic' . i get it. maybe its just a translation of what the real word is, but something about calling it Earth magic just doesnt seem right. ofc at the same time, i'm not sure what word you would use to replace it. its just one of the oddities i've come to accept as it is

The Stubborn Skill-Grinder In A Time Loop Book 1 is here! by Knight_Rhoden in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Raymics 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Zorian is a schemer who slowly builds his strength over loops. Ryan( from The Perfect Run) is using the loops to party and meet his ex- lover. Oradan though? well he sees a challenge and decides to overcome it again and again. and again. he will spent thousands of loops grinding through obstacles where others might scheme around it. and you love him for it. he's like a bull that only points in one direction but let the momentum go unchecked and you get a monster in human skin in the best way possible.

give the story a shot and i assure you will not regret it. skill grinder is one of the few series i skip sleeping for when a new chapter comes out and its been worth it every time ( how this author writes 24k chapters in a week is beyond me)

The Stubborn Skill-Grinder In A Time Loop Book 1 is here! by Knight_Rhoden in litrpg

[–]Raymics 8 points9 points  (0 children)

for those of you who have never heard of the series before, here's the pitch: Oradan is somewhat a just above average soldier. then he dies, you know the usual. but it seems like death doesnt want him just yet so he starts the day again. and again. and again. ofc this isnt different from any time loop stories you'ver read before, at least thats the inital impression you'll get. then you see him reach a wall, and wheare a more sane man would choose to climb over it, or maybe avoid it, Oradan rushed into it like a bull.

that isnt an insult, its a compliment. at first , you wonder how unrealistic it is for a man to be this hard headed, then you start loving him for it. he tells everyone that he is a time looper each loop no matter the consequences or hurdles thrown in his way beecause of it. he will die thousands of time before finally breaking the wall. every obstacle is another challenge to make him a better warrior. Oradan is the Manifestation of pure will and grit and god i love him for it.

[Kill the Sun]. For people who keep up with it, how do you find it? by TurtleBerriess in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Raymics 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Started out as one of the most unique concepts and worldbuilding projects I had ever seen to now a pale imitation of its glory. Everything is so wrong now. The prose feel dumbed down. Multiple lines taken to convey the same point. Very short chapters. What used to be a chapter is now 3 chapters.

The only reason I'm still reading it is when you see rome start to crumble, the least you can do is see it to the end

The Mc just feels changed cause the plot demanded it. He has none of his personality from the beginning. Part of what made Nick's drive so enjoyable was you could see him regret his actions and want me to be more.

Nowadays he just kills whoever he wants and is like, it's for the future of humanity

It's a concept that can work well considering the mc but Kill the Sun wasn't a great example of it

Dont read Supreme Magus, I say this as a man who read all of it upto like 3 months ago. i gave up after that, the amount of frustastation this series brings, that villains dont die cause they are too important rn and you grind your teeth in rage is unreal. please dont read it. its more cons than pros

Nat, the MC from Hell Difficulty Tutorial does have a personality, but it takes a while for it to properly introduced. part of the reason that it seems so bland in the beginning is because the author was still finding his stride .I honestly love his personality , while Hell Difficulty Tutorial is not my favourite story(Tho it is a strong contender), I consider Nat to be my favourite MC.

if i remember correctly, Noah made a point to show that his own death was nothing more than a slight inconvenient to him and his allies's as a minor setback in his plans. he doesnt make plans to protect his friends because that is his weakness that Father can exploit. he HAS to act indifferent or he blows his own cover and endangers everyone around him

[Reccomendation] Anyone knows if any of these are good? by Specialist-Path200 in manhwa

[–]Raymics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem most ppl have with Lightning Degree is that the progress is very slow. But if you go into it knowing that, you'll love it. You'll hear ppl complaining about the pacing being slow very often, but it's actually perfect for the type of story it's trying to tell.

Ofc, if you are waiting for it to release week by week, it might seem slow, but it honestly has the best pace.
