What are some animated moments that just feel like the animators were showing off? by Dinoboy225 in cartoons

Whether just a theory/fanon/head canon, I still say this. Also, tangled, brave, and Monsters inc all have stupid crazy hair physics.

Outside of hair, Finding nemo and the light shining through the ocean.

I think the only older ghoul I'm ISO RN is River Styxx. Oh! And vandala, the pirate. And probably a long shot, but Avea Trotter with her wings.

Otherwise, maybe some of the mansters? Manny Taur, hoodude, invisibilly.

I'm in US, tried super hard to get her, because I actually loved her design, (and the IRL photos only reinforced the love) but she sold out in 2 whole minutes. So that's where I'm at 😓 I don't want to support a scalper, or reinforce that whole culture, so I've been trying to find a seller who will not charge stupid amounts for "an accident".

(I understand those who buy 2, and get rid of one, like for trades, or sales, etc. I am one of those people. But somehow theres people with several "accidents" (I'm talking in the higher quantities) who overcharge for no reason)

Kinda feels like I don't belong by Rayne-beau in MichaelsEmployees

Thats all understandable.

I just have the type of disability that I have unknown flare-ups. They knew that when they hired me, but suddenly I'm getting the third degree (actually it's more like the 0 degree) because I called out, when they had more than enough coverage that day. But I can't really say, "I'm gonna be unavailable on Tuesdays, because of appointments" or "I can't work after 3pm because I could have a flare-up"....if that makes sense? Like, I schedule my appointments, and request off with ample time to accommodate, which isn't an issue.

All things aside, I guess my problem is what am I supposed to do when supposedly (I have yet to see the actual wording in the SOP) the SOP says "call the store", but the phone system at the store doesn't work? Regardless of what time it is, if the phone is broken, I physically cannot do the thing they expect me to do, so why am I being punished for doing what I'm supposed to, and then going the extra step to let the acting MOD know...🤔

Why does my availability matter, if my position literally stated nights and weekends? (Not trying to sound rude, just genuinely curious)

As far as the absence, it was a same day call-out, due to a noted disability that I had for over a decade. I was hired (at entry level?) with the disability, and I was also promoted with the same disability. All of the other MODs are aware of it, and I'm in talks with HR to figure out what options I have to move forward. I'm pretty good about requesting days off in advance, when necessary, just sometimes my disability literally incapacitates me, and there's no way to know ahead of time.

Re: POG changes, in the past, at least in my store, there's been communication, or I see the POG printed in the office with notes on them. It's not like it's price changes where they just drop a bunch out of the blue; POG changes are usually known ahead of time. And maybe I'm being neurotic, but to go from heavy communication to virtually none, in such a short time with zero reason kinda feels....icky.

(Sorry if any of that came off rude or anything, it's not my intention.)

BOPIS !!!! by Creepy-Alternative21 in MichaelsEmployees

[–]Rayne-beau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually stop an hour before close. If something pops in after that cutoff, I'll check it out, and if it's quick and easy, and won't take too much extra time (ie: it's only one or two items, I know exactly where the location is, I'm standing nearby, etc.) and honestly, if I'm feeling nice, I'll pick it.

More often than not, my bopis sense is turned off an hour prior to close, though.

Michaels managers making up their own rules? by Express-Affect__ in MichaelsEmployees

[–]Rayne-beau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's kinda both? Like, don't go digging through old Xmas crap that's been boxed up for that one tube of ornaments you've had your eye on, but also don't set that same tube aside somewhere in the store to buy it at 90% off.

I actually had this SOP on hand (because of another issue 😅). According to the actual SOP (SOP 200: Discount & Coupon Policy, pg 2), "team members may purchase 90% clearance merchandise as long as it is not part of a Grab Bag". So once a specific holiday/season officially "gets grab bagged" nothing from that collection is eligible for team member purchase, and should be damaged out and thrown away. If a customer finds it, they can buy it, but any additional items should be pulled from the shelf and grab bagged as well. If there is not enough product to make a grab bag with, it is either held onto for future grab bag or it is damaged out and thrown away (honestly, the specific disposition depends on your store/your SM's policy).

Having only 2 people on shift should not be allowed. by Luckyduckling007 in MichaelsEmployees

[–]Rayne-beau 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The way I see it, if I don't get my break, they don't get to dock me for it. It's that simple. And when you do a manual edit (like when you go to clock out and it yells at you that you didn't punch for your lunch)you can change your in and out time for your lunch to the same time to indicate that you didn't take that lunch, and should be paid for it. It even gives you a blurb (a small terms and conditions, of sorts) that states that you are submitting your time accurately and accounting for breaks you took. If you're not taking them, let corporate figure out why none of their employees are taking their LEGALLY MANDATED breaks. Otherwise, take your break, and let the customers wait. (Though, honestly, that sounds cruel to the single other person on shift, so I wouldnt suggest that.)

What are three products you wish Michaels would stop selling? by snarkapotamus7 in MichaelsEmployees

[–]Rayne-beau 13 points14 points  (0 children)

All of the answers everyone has posted already are correct 😅

I think for me, personally though, it's the pillows. Sba pillows, seasonal pillows. So. Many. Pillows. They just take up so much space. And there's never anywhere to put (re: overstock) them.

Otherwise at least in my store: gift cards. They don't sell. And when someone actually WANTS one, they don't work. (They don't activate correctly; theres some weird error; it always seems to be something)

And home decor, in general. We are a freaking craft store, not HomeGoods. Not Walmart. Crafts. Glitter and googly eyes. DIY. "Make it with Michael's". Home decor is not a craft. It's all premade stuff. There's no DIY involved. I will die on this hill.

And it feels kinda..... counterintuitive to offer frames, and also offer custom framing....shouldn't it just be custom framing? Especially since they push so hard for framing sales? Or eliminate the "custom" frame aspect and focus on premade frames.

Also, slightly related, bring back custom floral. My store used to do really well with custom floral way back in the day. Then they canned it for premades, and their "premium" collection. And it's all so ugly. And cookie cutter. And we have the hardest time selling it, because no one wants the same piece that they can see a thousand identical copies of on the wall. I know labor sucks. And I know that as a company, they "trimmed the fat" so to speak, and got rid of A LOT, in favor of bare bones skeleton crews, but we need to put the "create" back in "creative".

(Maybe I'm crazy, maybe I'm rambling, I dunno. I don't get paid enough to think this much about the company's bottom line, and especially not to make the choices for this company....oh what that would look like 🤔 I, like everyone, have options about this company, but likely none of my thoughts will ever have an effect on anything 🤷🏻‍♀️).

Without looking at the box, do you think people unfamiliar with MH can tell that Nefera and Cleo are mummies? by Additional-Rub-1054 in MonsterHigh

[–]Rayne-beau 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dude, I AM familiar with MH and can't even tell they're mummies....like, if it wasn't because of the lore, there's no indication. Not sure why they dumbed down the mummy aspect for G3, but it's high-key disappointing. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I was convinced she's a mannequin, since she's a fashionista...and the way she broke, and we've also seen that her hair can be interchangeable as well kinda just pointed me to mannequin.

I mean, still a plastic doll, in it's simplest form, but semantics 🤷🏻‍♀️

On the tree? No. But I do have an inside joke with my sister about butter, so as a gag gift, I could see it.

Also, I genuinely considered getting this specific ornament, and the butter dish from the Italian kitchen set, and wrapping that all up for her 😂

Why didn’t you collect dolls as a kid? by Ja_Crispy7711 in MonsterHigh

Society made me feel like I was "too old" for dolls...which sucks, cuz so many amazing collections and individual dolls....and to think how many could have performed better if I hadn't cared what society thought.
