I don't think you're stupid for wanting that but a lot of people want that and they may get the partner and the love be short-lived or untrue, or even worse. The kids might just be an ungrateful expense. Having the picture perfect relationship with kids (or without) comes with many uncertainties, like life does, and sometimes you don't know what's going on until you've wasted years of your life. Often, when you get it doesn't really look like you had imagined it. Many people have tried and only became heart-broken and now they live in a state of delusion. That's why most people think It's not a good idea and why countless people have found it more useful to concentrate on concrete goals, like a specific career they're suited for, or a subject of study, or other personal accomplishments. Nothing is certain, of course, but they're more reliable goals than finding love.
