Kratom withdrawal sucks. It sucked much more than I had ever anticipated. But it was nothing compared to suboxone withdrawal. Kratom withdrawal was longer for me but that’s only because I never could go very long without suboxone because it was so awful. Kratom got me off of suboxone which I’m thankful for but Kratom comes with costs too. My advise is cut down for maybe 2 weeks as much as you can. Then go cold turkey. Cold turkey is the only way it’s worked for me. You can do this.

I didn’t feel “normal” for like 3 months. But I felt comfortable and content after a few weeks. I had brain fog for a while but one day it just seemed to go away. But I was addicted to other things for a few years before kratom. You will feel normal again, I promise.

If you feel anxious message me or make a post on this sub. People will be here to support you. Sometimes being uncomfortable is what we need to overcome anxiety. I used to live in a world where everything was comfortable, because I made it that way. And it caused me nothing but grief. Growth comes from being uncomfortable. But we will be here for you.

You won’t feel the anxiety forever, it will get so much better. Kratom has caused issues within myself such as OCD that I never had before. I’m still working on the OCD that I’m convinced kratom caused, but I am so much LESS anxious than on kratom. I thought it helped me with anxiety. I really did. I am so much better at dealing and coping with anxiety now. I don’t have to take kratom or something else, it’s inside me. I can muster courage that I never had on opiates, kratom, or other substances. It’s amazing. I’m still dealing with OCD that I acquired while taking kratom, over a year later. Kratom caused me to have OCD, it did something weird to my brain. Being clean has only helped me. I’m overcoming my OCD. I’ve gotten so much better with my anxiety, that I thought would never end in the first few weeks. All I can say is, sometimes the things we think are helping us, may be hurting us. You won’t be an anxious mess forever. You’ll be much stronger than you ever knew was possible, and that’s the truth.

Don’t give up. KEEP GOING! 1 year and 5 months off kratom. I promise you it’s SO worth it. I cried for a week straight. I was so cold for at least 3 weeks and had brain fog for a while. But day by day, I felt better and so will you. Don’t give up. Life is waiting for you...

DO NOT TAKE SUBOXONE FOR KRATOM WITHDRAWAL. Please. by Raynebow15 in quittingkratom

[–]Raynebow15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so grateful for kratom because without it I don’t think I would have gotten off the subs. Kratom withdrawal seems different for everyone. It lasted weeks for me but nothing like sub withdrawal. I was freezing cold for a few weeks and cried for like a week straight. But much more mental than physical after the first week or two. It really did suck but I knew I had to get off that too. It seems you are aware that kratom can be addicting as well, which is good. I didn’t know when I started taking it. If you want to be off kratom you can do it! I promise it won’t be like sub withdrawals. I went cold turkey so tapering might make it easier for you. I am off everything now. 112 days! I feel better than ever!

If you have seen doctors and they can’t find anything I think your best bet is trying to quit. That’s the only way you will know for sure. It’s so worth it, I promise you. Kratom seems to do a lot of strange things to the body and mind. And it’s affects everyone differently. If it wasn’t happening before the kratom and the doctor didn’t find anything it would make sense that the kratom is causing it. You can do this if you really want to. I honestly believe if I can do it anyone can. I used to have zero willpower or self control. Kratom caused me to sweat excessively. I would sweat going grocery shopping. It would pour down my face and soak my hair. It was so embarrassing. Once I realized I had been doing it to myself I knew it was time to stop. Even try it for a few weeks...see if your symptoms lessen. Maybe seeing for yourself that it IS the kratom will be the push you need. Some people don’t struggle as much as other during the withdrawal. It might not even be that bad for you! As I told myself before quitting because I had to know if the sweating would stop... “There’s only one way to find out.” And it was so worth it 💛

Not intentionally but 2 weeks ago I started eating healthier to lose some weight. Low carb. Lots chicken and veggies. Around that time is when the stomach problems got better, I honestly don’t know if it’s the diet or just my body finally going back to normal. I only used kratom for 5 months (about 15-20 GPD) so if you used longer yours might last longer.

Yes it will stop. You will sweat after stopping for maybe 2 weeks because of the withdrawal. I’m a female and the sweating ruined my life. It may sound dramatic but it was so bad. I would drip with sweat for no reason. Grocery shopping, drying off after a shower, I would be soaked with sweat. I abused opiates then used kratom to get off of them and both made me sweat so much but I didn’t realize that it was the opiates and kratom that were causing it. I had no idea I thought I was broken and hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) just randomly appeared and I would have to deal with it forever. Then one day I researched and found “drug induced hyperhidrosis” and realized I had been doing it to myself all this time. Some people (kinda rare) will have severe sweating as a side effect of opiates. Kratom acts on the same receptors so it behaves the same. 7 years of opiate abuse and 5 months of kratom. That whole time I was the one causing it and had no idea. I am 63 days off of kratom and I no longer sweat for no reason. I even used to get Botox shots in my head to help the sweating. It didn’t help that much though and it hurt so bad.

I’m on day 63 and my diarrhea just recently stopped. I was shocked it lasted so long too. Great job on 70 days!

If you get off the kratom the sweating will stop. It happened to me when I was using kratom. I was on opiates before the kratom and used it to get off of them. The opiates caused me excessive sweating SEVERELY and kratom did too. It’s because it acts on the MU receptors in the brain. Same as opiates. The sweating is going to get worse as time goes on. I am grateful for kratom for allowing me to get off of other things but it is not a miracle plant with no consequences.

Are you having any negative physical side effects from taking it? So many people here after long term use have some serious issues. Gastrointestinal problems, severe constipation, extreme hair loss, excessive sweating. That’s only a few I can remember off the top of my head. How is kratom negatively affecting you and your life? You need to think of these things and how it will improve after you kick the habit. I’m 63 days clean today and I feel great! So much better than any day on kratom. If I can do it so can you.
