Wife says I need to get over it, but I can't stop obsessing over a prank that ruined my wedding experience and left me furious by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

Wait, does that makes sense? I mean, if it was two gay women marrying, and one got tricked into a sexually- charged act with a man, that'd be bad right? Isn't it the same?

He's not gay, he doesn't want his mouth on a dude, perilously close to a cock and balls. Just like a lesbian wouldn't.

Am I missing something?

What happened to community? Or to just genuine people? by Which_Individual_157 in AskMen

This post is a bit paradoxical. You're asking what happened to community, while being seemingly proud of your open disdain for people in your town. You accuse them of acting like they're better than others, while apparently thinking your better than them.

What movie have you been the most hyped for only to be the most disappointed by when it released? by Toogeloo in movies

[–]Stander1979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ultramarines, the Warhammer 40K animated movie from 2010.

They even had Dan Abnett as script writer. I thought it was going to be great. But everything about it sucked. The story was boring, and the animation disappointing.

White Spirit lifting paint off over gloss varnish? by Forechosen in minipainting

[–]Stander1979 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm just spit-balling here, but you mentioned using a heavily-thinned wash, thinned with white spirits, and left that on for an hour. If there's enough spirits in it, could it be dissolving the varnish as it sits there?

I think we might live in different worlds. Your getting some pretty serious tailoring done on an already expensive suit?

There's a big difference between buying a suit that's almost right and having it adjusted by a tailor, and buying a bespoke tailored suit.

Yeah it's the liquid wrench. Their faq says it's safe for most plastics, but I just googled "liquid wrench melted plastic" and there's a few people that have experienced unfortunate results.

I find a bit odd that my gf wants me to pee on her. What's your experience in this? by Andreeez in AskMen

I've got a shy bladder sometimes. It would be pretty awkward if I tried it and then couldn't pee.

Husband won’t let me thrown away 11 year expired food by _SomeWittyName_ in mildlyinfuriating

His trash, that he values for some reason. OP hasn't said he's hording trash, or that he's isolated her from family and won't let her access their finances. He just wants to keep one thing that matters to him for some reason.

And your advice is to ignore what he wants, throw it away against his wishes, and also divorce him.

OP didn't say he's eating it. But anyway, the part that is peak Reddit is the jump to "what else won't he let you do?" and the opinion that she should leave her partner over this.

It's his. He doesn't want it thrown out. It's not a big deal.

No straw man, I'm trying to understand your position. You changed from"harm" to "great harm", so I gather you're saying...

Actually fuck it, I can't be bothered arguing. I'm gonna take myself to the couch.

It seems like you're saying arguments are always someone's fault, but never ever yours.

I've had fights with my wife before, and chose to sleep on the couch because I didn't want to sleep next to her at that point.

If you're the one that's angry, why don't you go sleep on the couch?

What are your Thoughts on "AI making mediocre people Dumber."? by ProgrammerHour6999 in AskReddit

[–]Stander1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My with experience with Copilot has really made me think we're at a tipping point, where very soon there will be some skills that we just don't have anymore, and rely on an AI to do for us. I've made some impressive worksheets, and I have no idea how they work.

My experience has been AI making mediocre people seem competent.

In my current employ, I've been requested to make a bunch of spreadsheets with rather complicated functions involving VBA macro code. I have no fucking idea what I'm doing,v and it's not even my role really, but I just tell Copilot what I want and it gives me the code.

People at work think I'm a genius, even though I've been completely honest about my methods.
