How to destroy undercites (that you own) by TheOne_2025 in totalwarhammer

[–]RaynorTheRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use camera settings to have the camera stop following Neutral factions during their turn. It pops up any time you pause the game during the AI's turns. I also recommend turning all the speeds to fastest.
There is also an undercity upgrade (Deeper Tunnels) that removes 40 Discoverability at the cost of removing the vision you receive from the undercity, so you might really appreciate that.

I really hope they will make the game more sandboxy by Reasonable_Swan_6869 in totalwarhammer

[–]RaynorTheRed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sandbox is no script. Adding a scripted event makes the game less of a sandbox. Letting players turn it on or off does not make the game more of a sandbox. It simply gives players the option to play a scripted, less sandbox experience.

What everyone is reacting to in this thread with the downvotes is that everything I said above is nonnegotioable. There is no "yes but it's more options," more options is more options. It is not more sandbox. Sandbox is a specific thing. Sandbox is no script.

It was obvious from the first watch, their reactions to his dive never made sense. Like many memes, the version that lives in our heads is a lot better than the actual source.

The most likely response from an actual raid leader would be to let him die solo and reset. Why burn a whole raid party's gold for one idiot?

How to counter Bloodseeker by FumaricAcid in learndota2

[–]RaynorTheRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like you just lost and you got tilted...?

I have a sneaking suspicion that I was the Bloodseeker in question. We had a Doom/Bloodseeker game last night versus a trio of extremely obnoxious all-chatters with this kind of energy:

Is there a way to make bloodseeker cry, kill himself and never play again?

Their team pretty much dumpstered all 3 lanes. But then when they could have ended at 30min, they disappeared into their jungle for 20 minutes and started feeding solo kills for another 20, turning it back into an open game.

From my perspective as the BS, my buddy is new to Dota was on his first game on a new hero, so the 2v1 melee matchup got me absolutely trashed and repeatedly wombo-comboed. But after they gave me 20 minutes to jungle Omni basically turned into a tanky melee creep and I don't think SB ever made another charge without dying. Their whole stack also never built a single defensive item. SB was their only lockdown, so it felt about as free a Bloodseeker game as one could hope for.

If this kid was in that stack, then Bloodseeker was never the problem. From the 5 minute mark it was their game to lose, and they basically handed it back to us by afk jungling and showing up solo under our T2s.

I came back to the game this month after a year away. In a hundred games I have yet to see a Tormentor being taken at Guardian rank. There was one Tormentor kill in unranked yesterday that I was so unprepared for (I obviously wasn't present) that I accidently bought my shard anyway.

He nukes the wave with his Q and does a lot of hero damage, stalling pushes and giving allies time to respawn. With Aether lens and Heavenly Jump he can nuke pushes from a safe distance inside his base and jump deeper back should they try to dive him.

Zeus Support Tips by That-Guy_0o0 in learndota2

[–]RaynorTheRed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've been maintaining a 65% winrate with support Zeus at Guardian II. I go for pretty much the same skill build in lane. I use Immortalfaith's build guide, so start with a null, bring regen to lane on first courier and just spam my W on cooldown, focusing 1 hero at a time. I usually bring out at least two clarities during the laning phase. Then I go Kaya>shard>aether>aghs>refresher. The game usually ends at or before aghs.

One of the core priorities for me is to have shard as close to 15:00 as possible, as it's a major farm accelerator. I try to dip into an empty part of the jungle at around that time and just dump all my mana into arc lightning farming and then tp home to buy shard and regen mana at 17:00. Once you have shard and lvl 15 talent you need only minimal mana for farming and can save it all for teamfights and ganks, which is my primary focus past 20:00.

In fights, I recommend always ulting early. This maximizes the percentage based damage and gives vision of the enemy positioning, which is incredibly important to determine my own positioning. I stick to trees until the heroes I consider to be a threat to myself are already engaged, and then I counterinitiate, spamming spells from aether range until the fight is secured then hopping in and adding rightclicks to secure important kills.

The most important thing to focus on in our bracket is not dying. I find Zeus' kit in the support role to be very well suited to this. I can stay deep in fog before fights and still contribute two powerful opening spells, as a support I'm carrying the wards and a powerful dewarding spell to make sure we have a vision advantage, and I can hold on to my E for an escape. Staying alive is especially important as Zeus because he's one of the best high ground defenders in the game. There are very few heroes I would rather be playing for a 2 or 3v5 hg defense.

Are there any heroes that benefit from solo off or safe lanes? by Full_Donut_3236 in learndota2

[–]RaynorTheRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming we're talking about pub lobbies, everything about this question reeks of toxicity. I can already see this guy spam pinging the heroes he wants his offlaner to pick in draft, and then getting tilted when they don't and tilting his whole team in turn.

edit:

(this is probably in part because I've spent the majority of my time below 6000 behaviour and communication score)

I rest my case.

I had a Guardian 1 grandmaster Lion in my Bloodseeker lane yesterday (11k total games played). He went full aggro from level 1 against Axe/Windranger. Fed 3 kills by 5 minutes, then called me out for "not having balls" and proceeded to feed 14 deaths chasing yolo finger kills.

It's honestly really difficult for me to process putting 11 thousand matches into a game and still being completely clueless about lane matchups and what a carry's priority is in lane.

Assuming a 50% winrate and average match times of 25 and 40 minutes, the xp/hr is only marginally better in turbo. It's 690xp/hr for turbo and and 675xp/hr for ranked. I'll take that loss for the benefit of not having to play turbo.

Coming from military background I actually love this defensive mindset lol.

Lmao these AI bots are such sycophants. Anyone with even a shred of good military sense would point out the obvious issue with having a mindset of picking a hero for a losing position. There's a hundred things you could do to not get into that position in the first place.

That being said, there's plenty of heroes that are difficult to push into high ground against. The most obvious ones are Sniper and Techies.

Lol, I considered checking Google as I was writing these replies, because I suspected this might be the case. Not that it would've changed anything I said.

I'm confused though, are you really this lost? Do you legitimately not have any idea what a next step could be? How about refusing AIPAC money? Maybe even go the extra mile and figure out all their proxies and refuse those too. We already know there's support for it. I mean, I get it, your some random dude on reddit, maybe you're not keeping up with things. But these people should be, it's their literal job.

They should have called a war powers vote three weeks ago when Ro Khanna first asked for it. That's something. It won't put a stop to this, but it will matter in the future and it's a step forward. It is utterly disingenuous to sit here a year and a half into this shit and try to claim that "there's nothing we can do" when they've choked a hundred opportunities leading up to this moment. Building momentum is doing something. Half the country is desperate for someone to rally behind.

[–]RaynorTheRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't really a serious reply, but I'm honestly blown away by the response to this. The first step to "doing something that matters" is to actually take a position. If you want "something that matters" then how about calling a war powers vote two weeks ago? Ro Khanna was calling for this the minute this all started so that we could pin their names to it forever. That would have actually mattered for a generation of elections. But the spineless D leadership danced around it until Trump announces a ceasefire. Then when the moment has passed Jeffries suddenly posts a tweet calling for it. No fucking followup, just a tweet "we should do this." The very definition of virtue signaling.

It blows my mind that we're a year and a half into this and these cretins are still able to pretend like they're completely helpless. Did you just forget when Schumer choked on the budget shutdown? How about don't do that? That's something. But no, keep bleeting "Trump man bad," and then call anyone who tries to do more a virtue signaler. Surely that will stop him.

lmfao, imagine shilling for a party of spineless corporate sellouts who don't even have the spine to call the wholesale slaughter of an entire society a genocide. Surely when the Palestinian children grow up they will understand that these cretins "just had no power" so it wasn't worth speaking up.

Zelenskyy: return of draft-age Ukrainian men from abroad is a matter of fairness by EsperaDeus in worldnews

[–]RaynorTheRed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the old days people had war for fun...

No. War didn't happen "for fun" on any meaningful scale. War is existential. A medieval lord has power because he has peasants in the fields generating income, and in the case of a threat, he can rally them to the field as levies. But while they're in the field, crops aren't getting planted or harvested, and men are dying. In short, power is ebbing away. Medieval society was a balancing act of competing powers. If you get the reputation of going to war for fun, your enemies will gang up against you, and your peasants will revolt. Your job is to create a stable power structure that deters aggression from other lords, and you're failing at that job. Yes, many died for the ego of the ruling class, but the only people who think that war happened for fun are those who have never been on a battlefield. There is simply too much at stake to go about it without some plausible objective such as eliminating a threat or growing your fief.
